Marlins Television Network

From 1993 to 2005, the Marlins Television Network aired games to homes not only in South Florida but to other parts of Florida. The network was produced by the same crew that telecast Marlins games on cable television. When Fox Sports Florida signed an exclusive long-term deal for Marlins baseball starting in the 2006 season, that signaled the end of the Marlins Television Network as a majority of those telecasts would air on Sun Sports.

WBFS-TV, virtual channel 33, is a MyNetworkTV-affiliated television station licensed to Miami, Florida, United States and also serving Fort Lauderdale. The station is owned by the CBS Television Stations subsidiary of CBS Corporation, as part of a duopoly with CBS owned-and-operated station WFOR-TV. The two stations share studios on Northwest 18th Terrace in Doral, near the Miami International Airport; WBFS-TV's transmitter is located on Northwest 210th Street in Miramar. On cable, the station is carried on Comcast Xfinity channel 3. WBFS-TV is one of two CBS Corporation-owned stations carrying the Fox Corporation-owned MyNetworkTV service, alongside sister station WSBK-TV in Boston.

WPXM-TV, virtual channel 35, is an Ion Television owned-and-operated television station licensed to Miami, Florida, United States and also serving Fort Lauderdale. The station is owned by Ion Media Networks. WPXM's offices are located on Northwest 14th Street in Sunrise, and its transmitter is located on Northwest 199th Street in Andover. It also shares a sales office with Lake Worth-licensed sister station WPXP-TV on Northeast 20th Avenue in North Miami. On cable, WPXM is available on Comcast Xfinity channels 16 and 437.

WWHB-CD, virtual channel 48, is a low-powered, Class A Azteca América-affiliated television station licensed to Stuart, Florida, United States, serving the Gold and Treasure Coasts of South Florida. Owned by the Sinclair Broadcast Group, it is a sister station to West Palm Beach-licensed CBS affiliate WPEC, Fort Pierce-licensed CW affiliate WTVX, and Palm Beach-licensed Class A MyNetworkTV affiliate WTCN-CD. The four stations share studios on Fairfield Drive in Mangonia Park, Florida ; WWHB-CD's transmitter is located in unincorporated Martin County on the Jonathan Dickinson State Park boundary. On cable, the station is available on Comcast Xfinity channel 21 and channel 24, as well as on digital channel 611.

WHDT, virtual channel 9, is a Court TV owned-and-operated television station serving West Palm Beach, Florida, United States that is licensed to Stuart. The station is owned by the E. W. Scripps Company, as part of a duopoly with West Palm Beach-licensed NBC affiliate WPTV-TV ; Scripps also operates West Palm Beach-licensed Fox affiliate WFLX under a shared services agreement (SSA) with owner Gray Television. The three stations share studios on South Australian Avenue in downtown West Palm Beach ; WHDT's transmitter is located in Wellington. Until 2019, the station's programming was simulcast on translator station WHDN-CD, virtual channel 9, in Naples, Florida.

WWCI-CD, virtual and UHF digital channel 10, is a NewsNet-affiliated television station licensed to Vero Beach, Florida, United States. The station is owned by HC2 Holdings. Currently, it produces five-minute local newscasts at :24 and :54 past every hour due to its affiliation with NewsNet. WWCI can be viewed on Comcast cable channel 11 in southern Indian River County and northern St. Lucie County, and on Comcast channel 10 in northern Indian River County.

WMOR-TV, virtual channel 32, is an independent television station serving Tampa and St. Petersburg, Florida, United States that is licensed to Lakeland. The station is owned by the Hearst Television subsidiary of Hearst Communications. WMOR's studios are located on Hillsborough Avenue in east Tampa, and its transmitter is located in Riverview. Master control and some internal operations are based at the studios of Orlando NBC affiliate WESH on North Wymore Road in Winter Park. WMOR is the only television station owned by Hearst that is not affiliated with any major broadcast network, as well as the only Hearst station that does not maintain a news department.

CBS paid about $265 million each year for the World Series, League Championship Series, All-Star Game, and the Saturday Game of the Week. It was one of the largest agreements between the sport of baseball and the business of broadcasting.

After Wayne Gretzky was traded to the Los Angeles Kings in 1988, CBC began showing occasional double-headers when Canadian teams visited Los Angeles to showcase the sport's most popular player. These games were often joined in progress, as the regular start time for Hockey Night in Canada was still 8 p.m. Eastern Time and the Kings home games began at 7:30 p.m. Pacific Time.
