Sedition is a law term meaning to inspire insurrection.

Sedition is overt conduct, such as speech and organization, that tends toward insurrection against the established order. Sedition often includes subversion of a constitution and incitement of discontent towards, or resistance against established authority. Sedition may include any commotion, though not aimed at direct and open violence against the laws. Seditious words in writing are seditious libel. A seditionist is one who engages in or promotes the interest of sedition.

Sedition is the second album released by New Zealand death metal band Dawn of Azazel. It was released in October, 2005 in New Zealand, on Extreme Imprints. It was also released in United States and Europe in 2006 on Ibex Moon Records. It was the first studio album to feature Martin Cavanagh on drums.


Sedition was an anarcho punk/hardcore band based in Northampton, England, active from 1983 through 1987. Cassette and MP3 bootlegs of demos and live performances exist, but their only official release was on a cassette-only various artists compilation put out by Cold Spring Records. This was the label's first release, and its cover is displayed on the label's webpage. The cassette also featured bands such as Psychic TV, Bruise, Charlie Don't Surf, and Venus Flytrap.

Fozzy is an American heavy metal band formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1999 by lead singer Chris Jericho and guitarist Rich Ward. The band is signed to Century Media Records and has released three studio albums through this label. The band's current lineup consists of Jericho, Ward, Frank Fontsere, Billy Grey and Paul Di Leo. Jericho has characterized the band by saying, "If Metallica and Journey had a bastard child, it would be Fozzy." As of October 2017, the band has released seven albums and one live album.

Jericho is an historic suburb of the English city of Oxford. It consists of the streets bounded by the Oxford Canal, Worcester College, Walton Street and Walton Well Road. Located outside the old city wall, it was originally a place for travellers to rest if they had reached the city after the gates had closed. The name Jericho may have been adopted to signify this 'remote place' outside the wall.
