Água Grande is a district of São Tomé and Príncipe, on São Tomé Island. Its capital, São Tomé, is also the national capital of the equatorial Atlantic island nation of São Tomé and Príncipe. Covering only 16.5 km2 (6 sq mi), it is the smallest of the nation's seven districts in terms of area, [1] but the largest in population with 69,454 residents in 2012 rising to an estimated 77,700 in 2018. São Tomé is the capital and largest city of the Central African island country of São Tomé and Príncipe. Its name is Portuguese for "Saint Thomas". Founded in the 15th century, is one of Africa's oldest colonial cities.

To the northeast is Belo Monte, to the east is Praia Grande, a beach, to the south is Praia Inhame and to the west is the settlement of Aeroporto.
