Þórir Ólafsson (born 28 November 1979) [2] is an Icelandic handball coach and former player.
Between 1999 and 2002 he played for Selfoss, after which he joined Haukar Hafnarfjörður. [3] Here he won the 2003, 2004 and 2005 Icelandic championship. [4] In 2005 he joined German Bundesliga team TuS N-Lübbecke. [5] In 2011 he joined Polish KS Kielce, [6] where he won the 2012, 2013 and 2014 Polish Championship and Cup.
For the 2014-15 season he returned to Iceland and joined UMF Stjarnan as player-assistant-coach. [7] [8] After a season at Stjarnan he returned to Selfoss. [4] From 2022 to 2024 he was also the head coach of the team. [9] [10]
