The Class of 1881 Gate forms part of the perimeter of Harvard Yard in Cambridge, Massachusetts. [1] Its inscription invites the reader to "come within its gates, in order that in whole-hearted service to the truth, they may enter into life and so be free". [2] The gate has been locked for many years. [3] [4]

Lowell House is one of twelve undergraduate residential Houses at Harvard University, located at 10 Holyoke Place facing Mount Auburn Street between Harvard Yard and the Charles River. Officially, it is named for the Lowell family, but an ornate ALL woven into the ironwork above the main gate discreetly alludes to Abbott Lawrence Lowell, Harvard's president at the time of construction. Its majestic neo-Georgian design, centered on two landscaped courtyards, received the 1938 Harleston Parker Medal and might be considered the model for later Harvard houses nearby. 1857 Gate

The 1857 Gate is a triple-arched gate on the Harvard University campus, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. According to Harvard Magazine, "members of the class were killed on both sides of the fight in the Civil War", making the gate "a very touching memorial to the unbroken bonds of friendship that this class had". Students on both sides helped fund the gate. It has a Latin inscription from Horace's Odes.

Bradstreet Gate

Bradstreet Gate, on the perimeter of Harvard Yard in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is a wrought-iron gate opposite Memorial Hall. In 1997 it was dedicated to Anne Bradstreet on the 25th anniversary of female students living in Harvard's freshman dormitories. A plaque with a quote from one of Bradstreet's poems was added in 2003.
