The 1979–80 UC Irvine Anteaters men's basketball team represented the University of California, Irvine during the 1979–80 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Anteaters were led by eleventh year head coach Tim Tift and played their home games at Crawford Hall. They were members of the Pacific Coast Athletic Association. They finished the season 4–18 and 1–13 in PCAA play.

The 1978–79 Anteaters finished the season with a record of 9–17 and 3–11 in PCAA play. The anteaters were invited to the PCAA tournament for the first time and were eliminated Pacific Tigers in the first round.

UC Irvine baseball has been a member of the NCAA Division I Big West Conference since the start of the 2002 season which was the Anteaters' first season of play following the university's decision to revive its baseball program after the sport had been dropped following the 1992 season.

This was the program's first season in Division I after spending the previous 12 season in Division II. The Anteaters were led by ninth year head coach Tim Taft and played their home games at Crawford Hall as members of the Pacific Coast Athletic Association. They finished their inaugural season 8–17 and were 2–12 in PCAA play to finish 8th place. The anteaters did not receive an invitation to the 1978 PCAA tournament.

The Spartans were led by first-year head coach Bill Berry and played their home games at the San Jose Civic Auditorium. SJSU was a member of the Pacific Coast Athletic Association.

    The 1980 Pacific Coast Athletic Association men's basketball tournament was held February 28–March 2 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.

    The 1979–80 Utah State Aggies men's basketball team represented Utah State University during the 1979–80 men's college basketball season. They received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament where they lost in the first round to Clemson.

    The 1987–88 UC Santa Barbara Gauchos men's basketball team represented the University of California, Santa Barbara during the 1987–88 college basketball season. They were led by head coach Jerry Pimm in his 5th season at UCSB. The Gauchos were members of the Pacific Coast Athletic Association and played their home games at the UC Santa Barbara Events Center, also known as The Thunderdome.
