The 1986 season of the Tongatapu Inter Club Championship was the 13th season of top flight association football competition in Tonga. Ngeleʻia FC won the championship for the fifth time, their fifth title in a then-record of 7 consecutive championships.
Tonga Major League is the top football division of the Tonga Football Association in Tonga. The 2015 season's champion was Veitongo FC. Teams are relegated to the Tonga Division 1.

It played in the Lion Shield, the top level of football competition in Tonga, from at least 1971 until 2009, winning four outright titles and one shared title in the seventies and eighties. They are the second most successful team in Tonga in terms of top-flight league titles after Lotoha'apai SC and also the most successful team in the Tonga Cup, the premier knockout competition in Tongan football, winning nine of the twelve known competitions.

Nicholas Lou Saban Jr. is an American football coach who has been the head football coach at the University of Alabama since 2007. Saban previously served as head coach of the National Football League's Miami Dolphins and at three other universities: Louisiana State University (LSU), Michigan State University, and the University of Toledo. Alain Prost won his fourth and final Drivers' Championship, and Williams-Renault won their second consecutive Constructors' Championship, the sixth in all for Williams.
Nico Erik Rosberg is a retired German–Finnish Formula One racing driver and 2016 Formula One World Champion. He drove for Williams F1 and Mercedes AMG Petronas under the German flag. Born in Germany to Finnish former world champion Keke Rosberg and his German wife Sina, he holds dual nationality, and briefly competed for Finland early in his racing career. However, he does not speak either Finnish or Swedish, although he is reported to be fluent in five languages.

The Super League Greece or Super League Souroti for sponsorship reasons, is the highest professional football league in Greece. It was formed on 16 July 2006 and replaced Alpha Ethniki at the top of the Greek football league system. The league consists of 16 teams and runs from August to May, with teams playing 30 games each. As of August 2017, Super League Greece is ranked 14th in the UEFA ranking of leagues, based on performances in European competitions over the last five years.
1895 was the sixth season of County Championship cricket in England. It was the first season in which the official definition of first-class cricket was activated, following the 1894 ruling. Surrey won the championship for the fifth time in six years, despite increased competition, as the tournament was expanded from nine to fourteen teams. The points system was changed as the teams played differing numbers of matches and the new system involved division of the number of points gained by the number of matches that had ended in either a win or a loss. Draws were thus completely disregarded, as they gave zero points. Derbyshire was the best of the rookie teams, finishing in fifth place.
Andrea Dovizioso is a professional motorcycle racer who competes in the MotoGP world championship for the factory Ducati Corse team. He won the 125cc World Championship in 2004. He also finished third in the MotoGP class in 2011 and has been a race winner on 9 occasions, the first two coming seven years apart and the next six coming within the space of less than five months during 2017, as he mounted his first premier-class title challenge during his career. He once again finished second behind Márquez in the 2018 championship, winning four races.
JJB Sports Super League III was the official name for the year 1998's Super League championship season, the 104th season of top-level professional rugby league football in Britain, and the third season played in summer. The League format changed in 1998 and the championship became a play off series to determine the Super League champions, similar to the way the Premiership was played a few seasons earlier. This meant the first Final to determine the British champions since the 1972–73 season. Huddersfield Giants, the league's bottom club was saved from relegation in 1998 due to the expansion of the league to fourteen teams in Super League IV. The season culminated in the grand final between Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors, which Wigan won, claiming the 1998 Championship.

João Barbosa is a Portuguese auto racing driver. He currently competes in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for Mustang Sampling Racing alongside Christian Fittipaldi, with which he claimed both the drivers' and team championships while Chevrolet won the manufacturer's championship in 2014 United SportsCar Championship season.

The 2002 NCAA Division I baseball season, play of college baseball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began in January 2002. The season progressed through the regular season, many conference tournaments and championship series, and concluded with the 2002 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament and 2002 College World Series. The College World Series, which consisted of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA Tournament, was held in its annual location of Omaha, Nebraska at Rosenblatt Stadium. It concluded on June 22, 2002, with the final game of the double-elimination bracket. Texas defeated South Carolina 12-6 to win its fifth championship.

The 1977 NCAA Division III football season -- part of college football in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association at the Division III level -- began in August 1977, and concluded with the NCAA Division III Football Championship in December 1977 at Garrett-Harrison Stadium in Phenix City, Alabama. The Widener Pioneers won their first Division III championship, defeating the Wabash Little Giants by a final score of 39−36.
