The Campeonato Brasileiro Série C 1995 was a football (soccer) series played from August 27 to December 10th, 1995. It was the third level of the Brazilian National League. The competition had 108 clubs, the largest number before or since (as of writing in 2014), and two of them were originally promoted to Série B. However, with the withdrawal of five teams after the 1995 Série B, the 3rd to 6th placed teams in the 1995 Série C were promoted to the 1996 Série B.

2006–07 Serie C1

The 2006–07 Serie C1 was the twenty-ninth edition of Serie C1, the third highest league in the Italian football league system. It was divided into two phases: the regular season, played from September 3, 2006, to May 13, 2007, and the playoff phase. Once the regular season was over teams placed 2nd to 5th entered a playoff to determine the second team in each division to be promoted to Serie B. At the same time, teams placed 14th to 17th entered a playout for the right to remain in Serie C1 the following season.

The 1988 Campeonato Brasileiro Série B was the 10th edition of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B. The championship was disputed by 24 clubs divided into four groups of six teams. The four top teams in each group would qualify for the second phase, formed by 16 teams divided into four groups. the top two-placed teams in each group would qualify, and the same process would repeat in the next phases, also divided into groupus of four. as in the first level, wins were worth three points, and any match that ended tied went to penalties, with the winner of the penalty shootout gaining two points and the loser one point. The champion and the runner-up would qualify to the finals and be promoted to the 1989 Série A. Inter de Limeira came in first in the final group, with Ponte Preta coming in second. However, since the tiebreaking criteria were unclear, Náutico contested Ponte Preta's promotion, claiming that the first tiebreaking criterion was the number of wins in the whole tournament and not the number of wins in the final phase. CBF decided to award the promotion and spot in the finals to Náutico. Inter de Limeira eventually beat Náutico in the finals.

The 2019–20 Serie B is the 88th season since its establishment in 1929. The 20-team format returned after 16 years, the last time being in the 2002–03 season.
