The 2005 FIBA European Championship, commonly called FIBA EuroBasket 2005, was the 34th FIBA EuroBasket regional basketball championship held by FIBA Europe, which also served as Europe qualifier for the 2006 FIBA World Championship, giving a berth to the top six teams in the final standings. It was held in Serbia and Montenegro between 16 September and 25 September 2005. Sixteen national teams entered the event under the auspices of FIBA Europe, the sport's regional governing body. The cities of Belgrade, Novi Sad, Podgorica and Vršac hosted the tournament. It was the third time that the championship was hosted by the city of Belgrade. Greece won its second FIBA European title by defeating Germany with a 78–62 score in the final. Germany's Dirk Nowitzki was voted the tournament's MVP.
The Serbian Hockey League Season for 2005-2006 consisted of 12 games. It lasted from November 15 to December 16. In the end HK Partizan won. HK Spartak Subotica eventually fell out from the competition because of various problems - mainly that they lacked an indoor arena.

The 2003–2004 Panonian League Season was the second season of the multinational Panonian league. As in the previous season, teams from Hungary, Romania and Croatia participated. A newcomer, HK Vojvodina from Serbia participated too. At the end of the season the playoffs were held. The top two teams in the regular season qualified for the playoffs. The season lasted from October 25, 2003 to February 10, 2004.
The 2008–2009 Panonian League Season was the fourth and last season of the league. Like in the previous season, the teams came from only two countries - Croatia and Serbia. The same teams participated, and there were playoffs. The season started earlier, on September 30, and lasted until February 15, 2008.
The Serbian Hockey League Season for 1999-2000 was the ninth season of the league. Only three teams participated, as in the previous season. Once again, the teams from Belgrade were out because the arena in Belgrade was out. HK Vojvodina was the winner.
The Serbian Hockey League Season for 2000-2001 was the tenth season of the league. Unlike in the previous season, teams from Belgrade participated. However, the dominance established by HK Vojvodina in their absence was maintained, as the club won its fourth title in a row.

The Novi Sad Football Subassociation was one of the regional football governing bodies under the tutorial of the Football Association of Yugoslavia. It was formed on 13 April 1930 having been part of the Belgrade Football Subassociation until then.
Derby of Serbia refers to any match between professional Serbian clubs Red Star Belgrade or Partizan Belgrade from Belgrade and Vojvodina from Novi Sad. A Serbian derby match must involve Vojvodina and either one of the Belgrade clubs; matches between Partizan and Red Star are referred to as the Eternal Derby. One of the main reasons for the rivalry is the fact that Vojvodina, Red Star, and Partizan are the three most successful clubs in Serbia and the three most successful Serbian clubs in former Yugoslavia. Belgrade and Novi Sad are also the two largest cities in the country, so the derby is viewed as a manifestation of the rivalry between the two cities. They were also the only three Serbian clubs to win the Yugoslav championship, and all three clubs are in the Top 5 of the Yugoslav First League all-time table, with Red Star Belgrade at 1st, Partizan Belgrade at 2nd, and Vojvodina Novi Sad at 5th.
