The 2001 season of the Tonga Club Championship was the 23rd season of top flight association football competition in Tonga. [1] Lotohaʻapai United won the championship for the fourth time, the 4th in a record streak of 11 titles in the Tonga Major League. The season began on June 13, 2001. [2]
Ngele'ia FC is a Tongan football club located in Kolofou, Tonga. It played in the Lion Shield, the top level of football competition in Tonga, from at least 1971 until 2009, winning four outright titles and one shared title in the seventies and eighties.
