The Turan Tovuz 2011–12 season is Turan Tovuz's nineteenth Azerbaijan Premier League season. They finished the regular season in 12th place, meaning they took part in the Relegation group. They finished this group in 5th place, 11th over the whole league, and were put into the Relegation play-offs against FK Karvan. However this match didn't take place due to a decision by the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan about licensing, deciding that no clubs from the First Division would be promoted.^[1]^[2] This meant that Turan Tovuz kept their place for the 2012–13 Azerbaijan Premier League season.

The Baku 2011–12 season was Baku's fourteenth Azerbaijan Premier League season, in which they finished in 6th position. They also took part in the 2011–12 Azerbaijan Cup, which they won beating Neftchi Baku in the final and therefore qualified for the First qualifying round of the 2012–13 UEFA Europa League. It was their first full season under the management of Aleksandrs Starkovs.

The Ravan Baku 2011–12 season was Ravan Baku's first Azerbaijan Premier League season, which they finished in 8th place. They also took part in the 2011–12 Azerbaijan Cup, getting knocked out in the first round by FK Baku on penalties. Ravan Baku started the season under Bahman Hasanov who Resigned on 20 September 2011, being replaced by Vladislav Kadyrov who in turn was sacked on 5 February 2012, to be replaced by Bahman Hasanov.

The Kəpəz 2011–12 season was Kəpəz's second Azerbaijan Premier League season since their promotion back into the top flight. They finished the season in 10th place and were knocked out of the Azerbaijan Cup in the Quarterfinals by Neftchi Baku.

The Neftchi Baku 2012–13 season is Neftchi Baku's 21st Azerbaijan Premier League season, and their third season under manager Boyukagha Hajiyev. Neftchi participated in the Second and Third UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds, defeating FC Zestafoni of Georgia in the Second round before losing to Ironi Kiryat Shmona of Israel in the Third round. This meant that they dropped down into the 2012–13 UEFA Europa League Play Off Round, where they defeated APOEL of Cyprus 4–2 on aggregate to qualify for the group stages of the Europa League for the first time. In the group stages they were drawn against FK Partizan of Serbia, Rubin Kazan of Russia and Internazionale of Italy. They also won the Azerbaijan Premier League for the 3rd time in a row, and completed a domestic double by defeating Khazar Lankaran on penalties in the Azerbaijan Cup final.

The Khazar Lankaran 2012–13 season is Khazar Lankaran's eighth Azerbaijan Premier League season. Khazar Lankaran finished in 8th place in the league, after competing in the Relegation Championship during the second half of the season. They also reached the final of the Azerbaijan Cup, eventually losing to Neftchi Baku on penalties after a 0–0 draw. They competed in the 2012–13 UEFA Europa League, getting knocked out by Lech Poznań of Poland at the second qualifying round stage having previously defeated Nõmme Kalju of Estonia, 4–2, in the first qualifying round. Khazar started the season under Yunis Huseinov, until he resigned on 31 October 2012. Erik Roqueta Capilla was appointed as their caretaker manager on 1 November 2012. On 14 November 2012, Carles Martorell Baqués was appointed as the club's permanent manager, replacing caretaker manager Erik Roqueta Capilla. Baqués resigned as manager on 26 February 2013. On 8 March 2013 John Toshack was announced as the new manager, taking over from 15 March 2013.

The Baku 2012–13 season is Baku's fifteenth Azerbaijan Premier League season. This is Baku's first season under Božidar Bandović, who replaced Novruz Azimov after the UEFA Europa League qualifiers where they were beaten 2–0 on aggregate by Mura 05 of Slovenia. Baku will also participate in the 2012–13 Azerbaijan Cup.

The Ravan Baku 2012-13 season was Ravan Baku's second Azerbaijan Premier League season. Ravan started the season under new manager Cevat Güler, having replaced Bahman Hasanov in preseason. Güler was sacked as manager on 25 August with Hasanov being brought in as caretaker manager until Ravan appointed Kemal Alispahić on 24 September. Alispahić himself was sacked on 21 December 2012, after 4 wins in 13 games, and was replaced by Ramil Aliyev. Ravan went on to finish 8th in the league. They also participate in the 2012–13 Azerbaijan Cup, reaching the Quarterfinals, where they went out 6-2 on aggregate to Khazar Lankaran.

The AZAL 2012–13 season was AZAL's eighth Azerbaijan Premier League season and their first season with Vagif Sadygov as manager. They participated in the 2012–13 Azerbaijan Premier League, finishing 7th in the initial 22 game championship. They then went unbeaten, winning nine and drawing one, as the finished top of the Relegation Group with 57 points, 17 points clear of 8th placed Khazar Lankaran. They took part in the 2012–13 Azerbaijan Cup, which they were knocked out of at the second round stage by Simurq.

The Qarabağ 2012–13 season is Qarabağ's 20th Azerbaijan Premier League season, and their fifth season under Gurban Gurbanov. Qarabağ' will also compete in the 2012–13 Azerbaijan Cup.

The Kəpəz 2012–13 season was Kəpəz's third Azerbaijan Premier League season since their promotion back into the top flight. Kapaz started the season under Fuad Ismayilov, but he resigned on August 19, being replaced by Mahmud Gurbanov. Kəpəz finished the season in 12th place, getting relegated to the Azerbaijan First Division for the 2013-14 season, after being bottom of the league for all bar two weeks. They also participated in the 2012–13 Azerbaijan Cup, winning their first-round game against Qala 2-4, before losing to Qarabağ in extra time in the second round.

The Turan Tovuz 2011–12 season was Turan Tovuz's twentieth Azerbaijan Premier League season. Turan Tovuz started the season under the management of Asgar Abdullayev, but he resigned and was replaced by Afghan Talybov on 12 October 2012. Turan Tovuz ended the season in 11th-place resulting in relegation to the Azerbaijan First Division for the 2013–14 season. They also participated in the 2012–13 Azerbaijan Cup getting knocked out in the second round on penalties to Khazar Lankaran after the game ended 1-1.

The Simurq PFC 2012–13 season was Simurq PFC's seventh Azerbaijan Premier League season, and it is their first full season under manager Giorgi Chikhradze. They finished the season in 4th place and were knocked out of the Azerbaijan Cup at the Quarterfinals stage by Neftchi Baku.

The Sumgayit 2012–13 season is Sumgayit's second Azerbaijan Premier League season, and second season under Bernhard Raab. Sumgayit also competed in the 2012–13 Azerbaijan Cup, getting knocked out by Baku at the Second round stage.

The Simurq PFC 2011–12 season was Simurq PFC's sixth Azerbaijan Premier League season. They started the season under the management of Sergei Yuran, before his contract was mutually terminated on 5 March. Igor Getman was appointed as the club's caretaker manager from the 5th to 11 March, when Giorgi Chikhradze was then appointed as their permanent manager. They finished the season in 9th position and were knocked out of the Azerbaijan Cup at the first round stage by vs Neftchi Baku.

The Sumgayit FK 2011–12 season was Sumgayit's first Azerbaijan Premier League season, and second season in their history. The finished the season in 12th place, bottom of the Premier League, and reached they First Round of the Azerbaijan Cup where they were defeated by Qarabağ.
