The 2011 French Figure Skating Championships took place between 17 and 19 December 2010 at the Patinoire de Tours in Tours. Skaters competed in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, ice dancing, and synchronized skating on the senior level. The results were among the criteria used to choose the French entries for the 2011 World Championships and the 2011 European Championships.

The Canadian Figure Skating Championships is a figure skating competition held annually to crown the national champions of Canada. It is organized by Skate Canada, the nation's figure skating governing body. Medals may be awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing on the senior, junior, and novice levels.
The French Figure Skating Championships are a figure skating national championship held annually to determine the national champions of France. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. Skaters compete at the senior level. National-level competitions for juniors and novices are held separately.

The event was used to help determine the French team to the 2008 World Championships and the 2008 European Championships.
Lyon Hockey Club Les Lions was the ice hockey team of Lyon, France. The team currently competes in The French Ligue Magnus on 13 January 2014 it was announced they will have a partnership with the Tampa Bay Lighting and Syracuse Crunch. In 2019, the professional team was dissolved after bankruptcy.

Alexis Miart is a French former ice dancer. With former partner Tiffany Zahorski, he placed 4th at the 2011 World Junior Championships.

The Patinoire de Caen la mer is an ice rink in Caen, France. It is the home arena of the Drakkars de Caen of the Ligue Magnus, and the ACSEL figure skating club. It also offers public access to the ice rink for free skating and lessons.

Luc Economides is a French figure skater. He is the 2017 ISU Junior Grand Prix in Austria silver medalist, 2019 Santa Claus Cup champion, 2018 French national junior champion, and two-time French national senior medalist. He qualified to the final segment at the 2018 World Junior Championships and finished 15th overall. In 2022 he reached 19th place in the world ranking.
Aren'Ice, also known under the working name Centre national du Hockey sur Glace, is a multi-purpose arena primarily used as an ice rink, located in Cergy, Val-d'Oise, France. It is both the French Ice Hockey Federation's national training center, and the home ice for professional ice hockey team Jokers de Cergy-Pontoise.
