The best LKL clubs are also annual participants of the top European-wide basketball competitions, including the top-tier level EuroLeague.

Rytas Vilnius is a Lithuanian professional basketball club based in Vilnius, Lithuania. The club was founded in 1997 from another club, Statyba, and has become one of the most successful Lithuanian basketball clubs. Rytas have won two EuroCup titles, five Lithuanian League titles, three Lithuanian Cups and three Baltic Championships. The team plays their home games at the 11,000-seat Avia Solutions Group Arena and the 2,741-seat Jeep Arena.

The club participates in the Lithuanian Basketball League and internationally in the Champions League. It was founded in 1962 under the name BC Maistas and in 1964, BC Maistas's name was changed to BC Neptūnas. The club carries the name of the Roman sea god Neptune. Neptūnas participated in the 2014–15 EuroLeague season and is only the third Lithuanian club to participate in the premier European basketball league, after Žalgiris and Rytas.

The format was different from the previous contests: one team – Amžini Priešininkai – consisted of the best players from the two rivaling teams of Žalgiris and Lietuvos rytas, and the other team – LKL Žvaigždės – consisted of the best players from the rest of the LKL teams.

Big Baller Brand Challenge Games

The Big Baller Brand Challenge Games were a series of friendly basketball games between Vytautas Prienai–Birštonas of the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL) and five teams in the LKL, National Basketball League (NKL), and Regional Basketball League (RKL). It began on January 9 and ended on January 28, 2018. The games were designed by Vytautas to give more exposure to its new signees, brothers LaMelo and LiAngelo Ball, and resulted in the team's withdrawal from the 2017–18 Baltic Basketball League season. The games were sponsored by Big Baller Brand, an athletic apparel company founded by the brothers' father LaVar Ball, and were streamed on Facebook Live via Ballislife Weekly Showcase.
