The 2016 World RX of Germany was the eleventh round of the third season of the FIA World Rallycross Championship. [1] The event was held at the Estering in Buxtehude, Lower Saxony. Mattias Ekström won his maiden World Championship with a round to spare, holding a 30-point buffer to nearest rival Petter Solberg.

The 2016 FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy was the third season of the FIA World Rallycross Championship. The season consists of twelve rounds and started on 16 April with the Portuguese round at Montalegre. The season ended on 27 November, at Rosario, Santa Fe in Argentina.

FIA World Rallycross Championship

The FIA World Rallycross Championship is a rallycross series organised by the FIA in conjunction with series promoters IMG Motorsport.

Buxtehude Place in Lower Saxony, Germany

Buxtehude, officially the Hanseatic City of Buxtehude, is a town on the Este River in Northern Germany, belonging to the district of Stade in Lower Saxony. It is part of the Hamburg Metropolitan Region and attached to the city's S-Bahn rapid transit network. Buxtehude is a medium-sized town and the second largest municipality in the Stade district (Landkreis). It lies on the southern border of the Altes Land in close proximity to the city-state of Hamburg. To the west lie the towns of Horneburg and Stade and to the south there are a number of incorporated villages featuring mostly upscale housing, e.g. Ottensen and Apensen.
