The 2017–2018 Bikarkeppni kvenna was the 44th edition of the Icelandic Women's Basketball Cup, won by Keflavík against Njarðvík. The competition is managed by the Icelandic Basketball Federation and the final four was held in Reykjavík, in the Laugardalshöll in January 2018. [1] Brittanny Dinkins was named the Cup Finals MVP after turning in 16 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. [2]
The Icelandic Women's Basketball Cup, also known as Geysir bikarinn for sponsorship reasons, is an annual basketball competition between clubs in Iceland. It is Iceland's first-tier cup competition, and is not to be confused with Iceland's former second-tier cup competition, the Company Cup.

The club has won the Icelandic Basketball Cup a record fifteen times, including in 2017 and 2018.
Njarðvík women's basketball, commonly known as Njarðvík, is the women's basketball department of Ungmennafélag Njarðvíkur, based in the town of Reykjanesbær in Iceland. It won the national championship and the basketball cup in 2012. As of the 2018–2019 season, the team plays in the second-tier 1. deild kvenna.

Ungmennafélags Njarðvíkur is an Icelandic multi-sports club based in Njarðvík, Reykjanesbær, on the south-west peninsula of Iceland. It is primarily known for its men's basketball team which has won the national championship a record 17 times. Its women's basketball team won the national championship and the basketball cup in 2012. The club also fields departments in football, swimming, power lifting, judo and triathlon.
