The 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup East Asia-Pacific Qualifier was scheduled to be a tournament played as part of qualification process for the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. It was scheduled to take place from 11 to 16 October 2021 in Japan, with the top team progressing to one of two global qualifiers. [1] In April 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) granted full international status to Twenty20 men's matches played between member sides from 1 January 2019 onwards. Therefore, all the matches in the Regional Qualifiers would have been played as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). [2]
Originally the qualifier was scheduled to take place between March and September 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [3] In December 2020, the ICC updated the qualification pathway following the disruption from the pandemic. [4] In August 2021, the ICC confirmed that the tournament had been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [5] As a result, the Philippines advanced to the Global Qualifiers as the highest-ranked team in the EAP region. [6]

The Philippine national cricket team is the men's team representing the Philippines in international cricket. It is organized by the Philippine Cricket Association (PCA) which became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2003. The PCA became an associate member since 2017.
The Papua New Guinea women's national cricket team, nicknamed the Lewas, represents the country of Papua New Guinea in international women's cricket. The team is organised by Cricket PNG, an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The Fiji women's national cricket team is the team that represents the country of Fiji in international Women's cricket matches. Fiji has been an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1965. The national women's team made its international debut against Samoa in 2010 and its Women's Twenty20 International (T20I) debut in 2019. It is included in the ICC East Asia-Pacific development region.
The 2018–19 international cricket season was from September 2018 to April 2019. 34 Test matches, 92 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 74 Twenty20 International (T20Is), as well as 28 Women's One Day Internationals (WODIs) and 130 Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is), were played during this period. The 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup was the eighth ICC Men's T20 World Cup tournament. It was played in Australia from 16 October to 13 November 2022. In the final, England beat Pakistan by five wickets to win their second ICC Men's T20 World Cup title. Sam Curran was named the Player of the match and also the Player of the tournament.
The 2019–20 international cricket season was from September 2019 to April 2020. 29 Test matches, 78 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 145 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), as well as 23 Women's One Day Internationals (WODIs) and 61 Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is), were scheduled to be played during this period. Additionally, a number of other T20I/WT20I matches were also scheduled to be played in minor series involving associate nations. The season started with India leading the Test cricket rankings, England leading the ODI rankings and Pakistan leading the Twenty20 rankings. In the women's rankings, Australia women lead both the WODI and WT20I tables. The 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup in Australia took place during this time, starting on 21 February 2020, with hosts Australia winning the tournament for the fifth time.
The Indonesia national women's cricket team is the team that represents Indonesia in international women's cricket. The team made its international debut in January 2019 at the 2019 Thailand Women's T20 Smash in Bangkok.
The 2021 international cricket season took place from May 2021 to September 2021. 13 Tests, 56 One Day Internationals (ODIs), 45 [[Twenty20 International]]s (T20Is) were scheduled to be held in this season. The final of the 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship took place in June at the Rose Bowl in Southampton, England, with New Zealand beating India by eight wickets. The 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship started in August 2021, with India's tour of England.

Therefore, all the matches in the Regional Qualifiers were played as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

The winners of each sub-regional group progressed to one of two global qualifiers. On 2 September 2021, the ICC announced that Group A had been moved from Kuwait to Qatar.

Therefore, all the matches in the Regional Qualifiers were played as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
The 2020 Associate international cricket season was from May to August 2020. All official twenty over matches between Associate members of the ICC were eligible to have full Twenty20 International (T20I) or Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) status, as the International Cricket Council (ICC) granted T20I status to matches between all of its members from 1 July 2018 and 1 January 2019. The season included all T20I/WT20I cricket series mostly involving ICC Associate members, that were played in addition to series covered in International cricket in 2020. On 24 March, ICC announced that all qualifying events scheduled to take place before 30 June had been postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, including the 2020 ICC T20 World Cup Europe Qualifiers and the 2020 ICC T20 World Cup Asia Eastern Region Qualifier.
The 2021 ICC Women's T20 World Cup EAP Qualifier was a cricket tournament that was scheduled to be played in Samoa in September 2021. The matches would have been played as Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is), with the top team progressing to the 2022 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament. The Philippines were scheduled to make their debut at an ICC women's event. However, in August 2021, the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that the tournament had been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, Papua New Guinea qualified as the highest-ranked EAP team as of 30 November 2021.
The 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup qualification were a series of regional qualification tournaments to determine the final five places at the 2022 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Seven tournaments in five regions were scheduled to be played. In March 2021, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Division 2 tournament in Asia had been cancelled. The Division 2 tournament in Africa was initially postponed, before it was also cancelled. In August 2021, the ICC also announced that the Americas, Asia, and EAP regional qualifiers had all been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, Canada, the United Arab Emirates and Papua New Guinea all qualified directly to the 2022 Under-19 Cricket World Cup based on their past performances in the last five regional qualifiers. In the African group, Uganda won the Division 1 tournament to become the final team to qualify. In the European group, Ireland beat Scotland in the regional final to qualify. However, in November 2021, the ICC confirmed that Scotland had replaced New Zealand in the 2022 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, after New Zealand were forced to withdraw due to the extensive mandatory quarantine restrictions placed on the return of minors due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

All official twenty over matches between Associate members of the ICC were eligible to have full Twenty20 International (T20I) or Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) status, as the International Cricket Council (ICC) granted T20I status to matches between all of its members from 1 July 2018 and 1 January 2019. The season included all T20I/WT20I cricket series mostly involving ICC Associate members, that were played in addition to series covered in International cricket in 2021. In July 2021, Mongolia and Tajikistan were awarded Associate Membership of the ICC, and Switzerland were also readmitted as associate members.
