The 2022 Henderson mayoral election was held on June 14, 2022 to elect the mayor of Henderson, Nevada. It saw the election of Michelle Romero.
Due to a court ruling regarding the elections for the city council and mayor by the Nevada Supreme Court [1] [2] and changes to the law regarding all elections here statewide by the Nevada Legislature and Governor Steve Sisolak, March is not eligible to run for re-election in 2022 due to term limits. [3] [4] [5]
Romero was considered the heavy favorite, due to her massive fundraising advantage, raising over $500,000 by the start of 2022, as well as several endorsements from well-known local politicians, such as incumbent mayor Debra March and County Commissioner and former mayor James B. Gibson. [7] [8]

James Brinley Gibson is an American attorney and politician. He was the 11th mayor of Henderson, Nevada from 1997 to 2009 and is currently Clark County Commissioner since 2017. He is a member of the Democratic Party.
Joseph Michael Lombardo is an American politician and former law enforcement officer serving since 2023 as the 31st governor of Nevada. A member of the Republican Party, he was the 17th sheriff of Clark County from 2015 to 2023, capping a 34-year career in law enforcement.
Catherine Marie Cortez Masto is an American lawyer and politician serving as the senior United States senator from Nevada, a seat she has held since 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, Cortez Masto served as the 32nd attorney general of Nevada from 2007 to 2015.
Steven Alexzander Horsford is an American politician and businessman serving as the U.S. representative for Nevada's 4th congressional district since 2019, previously holding the position from 2013 to 2015. A member of the Democratic Party, he served in the Nevada Senate, representing the 4th district, in Clark County, from 2005 to 2013. Horsford was the first African American to serve as Majority Leader (2009–2013) and the first African American to represent Nevada in Congress. He lost to Republican nominee Cresent Hardy in 2014.
