The 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship will be the first edition featured 32 teams. Two places are allocated to the current titleholder, Serbia, and the host, which is to be determined. Fifteen places will be allocated to the top three teams from each of the 2023 Continental Championships that have not yet qualified as host or titleholder. If a country that is not on the pre-classified list qualifies for the 2024 Summer Olympics will also gain a spot for the Championship.The 16th spot is reserved for the host country and the remaining places will be allocated to the top fifteen teams in the FIVB World Ranking at the end of the 2024 National Team Season that have not yet qualified through the first three criteria.This . The 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship was held in Poland from 30 August to 21 September 2014. The tournament featured 24 teams to determine the world champions in men's volleyball. In addition to the host nation Poland, 23 teams qualified for the tournament by means of continental and regional competitions. The matches took place in seven venues across seven Polish cities, with the final being held at Spodek, Katowice.

The volleyball tournaments at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are scheduled to run from 27 July to 11 August 2024. 24 volleyball teams and 48 beach volleyball teams will participate in the tournament. Indoor volleyball competitions will occur at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles with the beach volleyball tournament staged at the Eiffel Tower Stadium in Champ de Mars. This is the first time in the history of the Olympic volleyball competition, each team participating in the Games will be entitled to include one non-competing (AP) athlete to replace an athlete for medical reasons. As such, team rosters will increase from 12 to 13 athletes.
