The 2026 Men's T20 World Cup qualification is the process by which teams will qualify for the 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. [1] A series of regional qualification tournaments will determine the teams which will take part in the tournament. [2]

Contents

Hosts India and Sri Lanka will qualify directly as hosts, they will be joined by the top eight teams from the previous edition who get qualified automatically, and depending on the finishing positions of the hosts in previous edition, the best two to four teams (other than the ones already qualified) from the ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings will also qualify for the tournament. The remaining eight teams will be decided by regional qualifiers.

    Format

    Each qualifying competition will be held in two stages:

    Africa Qualifier

    In the sub-regional phase, Qualifier A will be held in Tanzania in September 2024, [4] Qualifier B will be held in Kenya in October 2024 [5] and Qualifier C will be held in Nigeria in November 2024. [6] .

    The winners of the sub-regional qualifiers advance into the regional final, where they will join Namibia and Uganda who received a bye after participating in the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The qualification stages are as follows:

    Asia Qualifier

    In the sub-regional phase, Qualifier A is scheduled to be held in Malaysia. [7] Nepal and Oman get a bye directly into the regional final after participating in 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

    Europe Qualifier

    In the sub-regional phase, Qualifier A is was held in Rome, Italy, [10] the Qualifier B will be held in Germany [11] while the Qualifier C will be held in Guernsey. [12] [13]

    The winners of the sub-regional qualifiers advance into the regional final, where they will join Scotland and Netherlands who received a bye after participating in the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

    The ICC Men's T20 World Cup is the Twenty20 International cricket tournament, organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 2007.

    The ICC Women's T20 World Cup is the biennial international championship for women's Twenty20 International cricket. The sub regional tournaments were scheduled to take place in June and July 2021 in Finland and Belgium, with the regional final taking place in October 2021 in Spain.
