The 8th PMPC Star Awards for Music (also known as the integral part of the 2016 Star For M-TV Awards, with the theme The Fusion of Philippine Entertainment’s Best) was organized by Philippine Movie Press Club headed by current president Fernan de Guzman and produced by Airtime Marketing Philippines, Inc. headed by Tessie Celestino-Howard. It was held at the Novotel Manila, Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City on October 23, 2016. [1] [2]

Novotel Manila Araneta Center

Novotel Manila Araneta Center is a Hotel at the Araneta Center in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. The hotel is among the hotels part of the Novotel brand of AccorHotels, and the first hotel under the Novotel brand in the Philippines.


The set of awards were given to Filipino music artists who have major contributions in promoting the Original Pilipino Music (OPM) industry for the past year.

Juan Carlos Ocampo Atayde, better known as Arjo Atayde, is a Filipino actor. He is currently a talent of Viva Artists Agency and Star Magic. He is most recently known for portraying the antagonist Joaquin Tuazon, the son of the rich business man in the ABS-CBN primetime series, Ang Probinsyano and portrayed by Francisco "Paco" Alipio in television drama series Hanggang Saan.

Gretchen Ong Ho is a Filipino volleyball player and television host. She played for the Ateneo Lady Eagles from 2008-2013. She was a member of Fab 5 together with Ailysse Nacachi, Dzi Gervacio, Jem Ferrer and Fille Cainglet, who brought the Ateneo Lady Eagles to its first back-to-back UAAP appearances after 34 years.

The 30th PMPC Star Awards for Television awards ceremony was held on October 23, 2016 at the Monet Grand Ballroom, Novotel Manila Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City, coinciding with the 63rd anniversary of the birth of Philippine television. The awards will be given to selected programs and personalities ranging from actors, actresses, hosts and news and current affairs personalities who have made a mark in Philippine television in the past year. The awards night was hosted by ABS-CBN personalities Robi Domingo, Kim Chiu, Luis Manzano, Jodi Sta. Maria, Alex Gonzaga and Xian Lim with Elisse Joson and Arjo Atayde as segment hosts and performances from Sam Concepcion, Jason Dy, and 4th Impact.

Jossette Campo-Atayde, better known as Sylvia Sanchez is a Filipina actress. She is married to Arturo Atayde and the mother of actors Arjo Atayde and actress Ria Atayde.

Daniel Padilla filmography List of Daniel Padillas Films and Televisions

Daniel Padilla started his acting career in television as Daniel Ledesma in Gimik 2010, before landing the lead role Patrick Rivero in Growing Up (2011). Padilla finally starred in a critically acclaimed prime-time television series Princess and I (2012-2013), and garnering further recognition for appearing alongside Kathryn Bernardo in Got to Believe (2013-2014). Padilla began transition to more adult roles as Angelo Buenavista in ABS-CBN top seller international distribution program, remake of Pangako Sa 'Yo (2015). The role earned him first nomination at the 2015 PMPC Star Awards for Best Actor. All of his soap operas listed as the most watch Filipino television programs.
