Plot

Darren goes to Hollywood to tackle his dream of becoming an A-list movie star. However, once he gets there his dreams are crushed once he realizes the life of an actor is not all of the glitz and glamour he had hoped. When Darren is mistaken for Dante, an A-list, tinsel town actor; Darren's world is thrown upside down. With gigs coming in left and right and the paparazzi on his tail, Darren gets his wish, for better or for worse.

Vic Fontaine is a fictional character who appeared in the sixth and seventh seasons of the American science fiction television series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Portrayed by James Darren, he is a holographic representation of a 1960s-era Las Vegas Rat Pack–style singer and entertainer, as part of a program run in the holosuites at Quark's bar. The character was developed from an idea by executive producer Ira Steven Behr, who had sought to introduce a character of that type during the fourth season to be played by Frank Sinatra, Jr.. After Sinatra turned down the role, it was considered during the following season, to be played by Steve Lawrence, but once again was not used. Darren landed the role after Behr met him at a memorabilia show in North Hollywood and had him invited to audition.

Darren McGavin American actor (1922–2006)

William Lyle Richardson, known professionally as Darren McGavin, was an Emmy-winning American actor whose prolific career encompassed half a century. Born in Spokane, Washington, McGavin claimed to have been a child runaway who went on to begin his film career while working as a set painter for Columbia Pictures. In 1954, he originated roles in Broadway productions of My 3 Angels and The Rainmaker, and the following year starred in David Lean's Summertime and Otto Preminger's The Man with the Golden Arm. McGavin had his greatest successes on television, portraying the title character in Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer, and starring in the NBC Western, Riverboat. He left "an enduring mark on popular culture as the grizzled has-been crime reporter in the 1970s series Kolchak: The Night Stalker". McGavin won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his recurring role opposite Candice Bergen on the sitcom Murphy Brown. His film credits include Happy Hell Night, Billy Madison, Airport '77, Hot Lead and Cold Feet and A Christmas Story.

Eugene Shalit is an American former journalist, TV personality, film and book critic and author. He filled those roles on NBC's The Today Show from January 15, 1973, after starting part-time in 1970, until his retirement on November 11, 2010. Darren Osborne is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera, Hollyoaks. He was introduced by executive producer Phil Redmond as part of the Osborne family, making his first screen appearance on 18 November 1996, portrayed by Adam Booth. Booth left the role in 1997, and the character was later recast to Ashley Taylor Dawson who first appeared in September 1999.
