"Smack That" is a song by American singer/songwriter Akon from his second studio album Konvicted (2006). The song, which features a guest appearance from American rapper Eminem, was written by Akon, Mike Strange, Luis Resto and Eminem, with the latter also helming the song's production. The collaboration came after the two artists met during a recording session for Shady Records rapper Obie Trice. The song received praise from contemporary music critics for being a great club song.
The Glee cast has released sixteen soundtrack albums, six compilation albums and eleven extended plays (EPs), containing 754 different performances of an individual song or a mashup of two or more songs in a single performance. Of the performances on the various albums and EPs, 460 were also released as singles. Glee features on-screen performance-based musical numbers, most of which are cover versions of popular songs, with genres ranging from R&B and pop to country and show tunes. The cast consists of fifteen main characters; some actors were cast following Broadway theatre experience while others were required to audition to prove singing and dancing capabilities. Recordings of performances on the show are sold as singles the week of broadcast, available for download.
"Pon de Floor" is a song by Major Lazer, a collaborative musical project consisting of the American DJ Diplo and the British DJ Switch. The duo wrote the song and produced it with Afrojack and vocals by Vybz Kartel. "Pon de Floor" is a dancehall and baile funk song and was positively received by music critics. It appeared on the charts in the United Kingdom in 2010, where it reached number 125. Eric Wareheim directed the music video for "Pon de Floor", which shows people dry humping, and incorporates daggering choreography. The song has been sampled in Chiddy Bang's "Shooter" (2009) and Beyoncé's "Run the World (Girls)" (2011).

"Saturday Night" is a song recorded by English singer-songwriter Natalia Kills for her second studio album, Trouble (2013). It was exclusively released to online media retailers as the album's second single on 28 June 2013, following the release of the promotional single "Controversy" and the album's lead single "Problem". Written by American record producer Jeff Bhasker and Kills, the song faces the themes of "squandered youth and disenchantment", and talks about moving on while going through a difficult time. Musically, it is a new wave-tinged, synth-based song.
"Mother & Father" is a song by New Zealand musical duo Broods from their debut studio album, Evergreen (2014). As with the material on their self-titled debut EP, "Mother & Father" was written by duo members Caleb and Georgia Nott as well as producer Joel Little. It was released as the album's lead single on 19 June 2014 through Polydor Records. The song entered the New Zealand Singles Chart at number forty on 30 June 2014, then moved to number fourteen the following week.
Cazzette are a Swedish electronic dance music duo, founded in 2011 by musicians Alexander Björklund and Sebastian Furrer. The duo is best known for the songs "Beam Me Up", from their debut album Eject (2012), and "Sleepless" (2014), which charted in Sweden and was certified gold. They have also performed with Swedish progressive house DJ Avicii at a live show in New York City, on 27 September 2012 and again with Avicii as the guest act in Manchester on 20 February 2014. Early in 2015, the duo's collaboration with Terri B!, a song entitled, "Blind Heart", peaked at number one on the US Dance chart. On 31 March 2015, Cazzette announced their EP Desserts, which was released on 14 August 2015 release. They also announced the first single of the EP, "Together", released on 29 May 2015.
