Ado Khel is a subtribe of major Pashtun tribe, Yusufzai.
Pashtuns, historically known as Afghans, are an Iranian ethnic group native to Central and South Asia.
Pashtūnistān is the geographic historical region inhabited by the indigenous Pashtun people of modern-day Afghanistan and Pakistan in South-Central Asia, wherein Pashtun culture, language, and national identity have been based. Alternative names historically used for the region include "Pashtūnkhwā" (پښتونخوا) and "Afghānistān" (افغانستان), since at least the 3rd century CE onward. Pashtunistan borders Iran to the west, Persian and Turkic-speaking areas of Turkestan region to the north, Kashmir to the northeast, Punjab to the east, and Balochistan to the south.
Pashtunwali is the traditional lifestyle of the Pashtun people. Scholars widely have interpreted it as being "the way of the Afghans" or "the code of life". Pashtunwali is widely practised by Pashtuns in the Pashtunistan regions of Afghanistan, Khyber Pakhtunkwa and Northern Balochistan.
The Yusufzai or Yousafzai, also referred to as the Esapzai or Yusufzai Afghans historically, are one of the largest tribes of the ethnic Pashtun people. The tribe's origin is Kandahar, Afghanistan.
Popalzai or Popalzay, also known as Popal, are Durrani Pashtuns of Afghanistan and Pakistan. The origin of the Abdali forefathers of Sadozai tribe is probably the Hephthalites. The forefathers of Ahmad Shāh Durrānī the founder of the Durrani Empire were from Sadozai tribe. According to Mohan Lal, the Zirak line begins with Sulaiman Zirak Khan. Zirak was father of Popalzai, Barakzai, and Alakozai. Small number of Popalzais and Sadozais are also living in Pakistan, particularly in the cities of Quetta, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Sudhanoti District, Poonch, Peshawar, Multan.
The Durrānī formerly known as Abdālī (ابدالي), are one of the largest tribes of Pashtuns. Their traditional homeland is in southern Afghanistan, straddling into Toba Achakzai in Balochistan, Pakistan, but they are also settled in other parts of Afghanistan and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
Saṛbanī or Sarban Confedracy is a tribal group of Pashtuns. They are situated in Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Sarbani include many Pashtun tribes, including Sherani, Tareen, Durrani, Khalil, Kheshgi, Mohmand, Daudzai, Muhammadzai, Chamkani, Yousafzai, Shinwari, Tarkalani. According to the Pashtun legend of origins, the members of the Sarbani group all descend from Sarban, said to be the first son of the legendary founding father of the Pashtun people, Qais Abdur Rashid.
The Musa Khel, or Moosa Khel, is a Pashtun tribe of Gharghasht origin. According to Horace Arthur Rose and the 1911 Encyclopædia Britannica, they are part of the greater Panni tribe. The tribe resides in the tribal range of Musakhel and Batagram District in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. This tribe also reside in Khost province of Afghanistan. Musakhel tribe enjoy unique history due to its location. It is a backward district of Baluchistan where no college for girls is available till to-date, health and transport facilities are very miserable or nill. Musakhel borders the district of the southern Pashtun belt. It separates the Pashtun belt from the Baloch belt and Punjab (Tunsa).
The Achakzai is a Pashtun tribe that resides on both sides of the Durand Line, centered on Killa Abdullah District in Pakistan with some clans as far away as Afghanistan's Kandahar Province.

The Ghoryakhel is a Pashtun supertribe which consists of tribes led by the son of Kand, son of Kharshbun, son of Sarban, and son of Qais Abdur Rashid, who lived in Ghwara Marghay Arghistan Qandahar but mostly settled in Ghazni on the basin of Tarnak River and Nangarhar, Logar, Kabul, Kunar, Paktia,Kunduz of Afghanistan. Daudzai are also been living in Kabul, Afghanistan which is the largest Pashtun tribe living in Kabul.

Luni is one of the tribes of Pashtuns mainly living in Pakistan including in the town of Luni and Loralai districts of Balochistan province of Pakistan. Some of Luni families are also living in Quetta and other areas of Balochistan, Pakistan.

Tokhi is a Ghilji Pashtun tribe found throughout southern, eastern, southeastern and northeastern Afghanistan. Historically they have mostly lived in what is now Zabul Province, Helmand and Kandahar in Afghanistan.
