Ancient is a Norwegian black metal band from Bergen, formed in 1992. The band released six full-length albums released by Metal Blade Records to date and a variety of mini-albums, EPs and special releases. Ancient used to have the classic raw black metal sound, similar to Darkthrone's works. Beginning with The Cainian Chronicle, they moved towards a more Nordic/atmospheric black metal sound, akin to Emperor and a cleaner production. After a period of turmoil concerning their line-up, they went on to add gothic-style instruments such as violins, a female vocalist, and synthesizers to their music.
Einherjer is a Viking metal band from Haugesund, Norway, founded in 1993. Some of the band's albums are heavily folk influenced, while others have a more traditional symphonic black metal sound. Their lyrics retell Norse legends, and each of their albums has its own theme. The band split up in early 2004 after releasing the album Blot in December 2003, but later reformed.

Martin Powell is an English musician. In 1991, Powell auditioned for the position of bass player in the band My Dying Bride, but was turned down as the band had just filled the position. Upon informing the band he was also a violin and keyboard player, he was hired as a session musician, before becoming the band's permanent violinist and keyboardist.

Dødheimsgard is a Norwegian extreme metal band formed in 1994. Dødheimsgard originally played black metal, but 1999's 666 International saw them change their style into experimental and avant-garde/industrial metal. In 2000, they shortened their name to DHG.
Infernum is a National Socialist black metal band founded in 1992 in Wrocław, Poland by Grzegorz Jurgielewicz and Tom Balrog playing also in Oppressor and, at present, in Baphomet's Throne.
Keep of Kalessin is an extreme metal band from Trondheim, Norway formed in 1993. The group's early lineup consisted of Ghash on vocals, Obsidian C. on guitars and keyboards, Warach on bass, and Vyl on drums. They released two albums under this lineup: Through Times of War in 1997, and Agnen: A Journey Through the Dark in 1999, before splitting up. Obsidian C. then toured with Satyricon, but revived the Keep of Kalessin name for a 2003 EP, Reclaim. In 2006 he reconstituted the group with a new lineup and released a third full-length, Armada. They toured with Behemoth and Dimmu Borgir early in 2008. Their fourth album Kolossus was released on June 6, 2008. They take their name from Ursula K. Le Guin's Earthsea series of books, where Kalessin is the name of the arch-dragon who is the bearer of the Earthsea world. Keep of Kalessin was nominated for a Spellemannprisen in the metal category in 2008.
Cargo is a Romanian Heavy Metal band from Timișoara, founded by the guitarist Adrian Bărar in 1985. Throughout the years, the band has undergone numerous line-up changes, most notably when lead vocalist Ovidiu "Kempes" Ioncu was replaced by Adrian Igrișan.

Grand Belial's Key (GBK) is a black metal band founded in Oakton, Virginia in 1992 by guitarist Gelal Necrosodomy and vocalist Lord Vlad Luciferian. Lord Vlad Luciferian was later ejected from the group due to internal differences. The band is considered National Socialist black metal, a label in response to which the band has argued that its lyrics are simply "anti-Jewish/Christian and/or anti-religion". However, Gelal Necrosodomy has stated that "black metal to me is paganism, and paganism is neo-fascism, and neo-fascism is anti-christian, and anti-christianity is black metal. It is a circle that cannot be altered for everything fits in perfectly."
At the Arena ov Aion – Live Apostasy is the first live album by the Polish extreme metal band Behemoth. It was released on 31 October 2008 through Regain Records. The album was recorded live at La Loco in Paris, France on 17 February 2008 during the European Apostasy tour. The record was then mixed and edited in the Antfarm Studio, Denmark in June 2008. Additional editing took place in the Soundsgreat Studio in Poland during April and May 2008. The record was then mastered in the Cutting Room Studios, Stockholm in July 2008.
Elysium was a melodic death metal band from Wrocław, Poland, created in Spring 1996 by Maciej Miskiewicz (vocals), Michał Maryniak (guitar), Marcin Maryniak (bass), Mariusz Bogacz (drums) and Tomasz Kochaniec (keyboards). Half their discography was released on Metal Mind Productions, a major Polish indie label.
Closterkeller is a Polish gothic rock band from Warsaw. It was formed in 1988 by Przemysław Guryń, Jacek Skirucha, and the vocalist Anja Orthodox. Despite many changes in the band's line-up it has created a characteristic sound. Orthodox is the only member of the original line-up, performing continuously for over 30 years. The band is called one of the forerunners of gothic and atmospheric rock in Poland, they are also under the influence of music styles such as new and cold wave or even heavy metal. Many other groups like Delight, Moonlight or Artrosis said they took their inspirations from Closterkeller.
Nero is the seventh studio album by Polish gothic rock band Closterkeller. It was released on October 16, 2003 in Poland through Metal Mind Productions. The album was recorded on August–September 2003 at Zeman-Krason studio. The cover art was created by Agnieszka Szuba. English version of album was released on February 23, 2004 in United States and Netherlands through Bertus Distributie, Pitchfork Promotions.

Kreyson is a Czech metal band founded in Prague in 1989 by Ladislav Křížek after leaving the band Citron. He was joined by Jaroslav Bartoň, also from Citron, Daniel Krob (Arakain), Robert Vondrovic (Arakain), and Karel Adam (Moped).
