Akio Watanabe (渡辺 明夫, Watanabe Akio, born July 27, 1969) is a Japanese animator, illustrator, character designer, supervisor, director, dōjin artist and a member of the circle Pokopii (ぽこぴー). [1] [2] His pseudonym is Poyoyon♥Rock (ぽよよん♥ろっく). He worked with Akiyuki Shinbo at Shaft. His representative works include key animation for Popotan , and character design for Nurse Witch Komugi , The SoulTaker and Monogatari .

<i>Popotan</i> Japanese adult visual novel

Popotan is a Japanese adult visual novel developed by Petit Ferret with character designs by Akio Watanabe under the alias Poyoyon Rock. It was originally released as a PC game for CD-ROM on December 13, 2002, and subsequently re-released on DVD-ROM and for the PlayStation 2 with certain scenes removed. The title Popotan is a nonsensical word meant to reflect the prominence of dandelions, spelled tanpopo (たんぽぽ) in Japanese; Petit Ferret also produced a fan disc shortly before the DVD-ROM re-release. Popotan has been adapted to other media, including a novel series by Sassami Yachiruda; a manga series by Yūjiro Izumi; a twelve episode anime television series directed by Shinichiro Kimura, animated by Shaft, and licensed in North America by Geneon USA and later, Sentai Filmworks; a radio drama (Poporaji); and several art and reference books.

Ai Shimizu is a Japanese voice actress and professional wrestler. She has a career as a singer, signed to Lantis. She has released 14 singles and four albums. She covered Yumi Matsutoya's "Toki o Kakeru Shōjo" as the B-side of her first single "Angel Fish" in 2003. She is known to have a close relationship with Mai Nakahara, having collaborated in eight anime where most of the characters they voiced in together had close connections: DearS, Kage Kara Mamoru!, My-HiME, My-Otome, Please Twins!, Sola, Strawberry Panic! and the Lucky Star drama CD. Shimizu has worked sporadic professional wrestling matches since December 2013.

<i>Bonobono</i> Manga series by Mikio Igarashi

Bonobono (ぼのぼの) is a Japanese yonkoma manga series written and illustrated by Mikio Igarashi. From March 1986 to March 1987, the series ran in the Takeshobo manga magazine Tensai Club before the magazine was replaced with Manga Club, where it had been serialized from April 1987 to April 2020. It had also been serialized in Manga Life from April 1986 to July 2022. In July 2022, the series moved to Manga Life Original after Manga Life folded. It has been adapted into an anime television series, as well as two anime films and two video games.

<i>Tesagure! Bukatsu-mono</i> Japanese anime television series

Tesagure! Bukatsu-mono (てさぐれ!部活もの) is a Japanese anime television series. The series is animated using the program MikuMikuDance. The series began airing on NTV in October 2013. A second season titled Tesagure! Bukatsu-mono Encore aired from January 12, 2014. A manga illustrated by Kotora Suzune is published online on Manga Life Win by Takeshobo. The third season is a collaboration with Ryū Jikō and Kidani L's manga Minarai Megami: Puru Purun Charm, which is published in Monthly Shōnen Sirius, and titled Tesagure! Bukatsumono Spin-off Purupurun Sharumu to Asobou. Instead of each episode being 15 minutes as with the previous two seasons, the length of each episode is 30 minutes long to match the format of most TV anime.

<i>Hitori Bocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu</i> Japanese manga series

Hitori Bocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu is a Japanese yonkoma manga series written and illustrated by Katsuwo. It was serialized in ASCII Media Works' Comic Dengeki Daioh "g" magazine from September 2013 to April 2021. Eight tankōbon volumes have been released. An anime television series adaptation produced by C2C aired from April to June 2019.

<i>Bocchi the Rock!</i> Japanese manga series

Bocchi the Rock! is a Japanese four-panel manga series written and illustrated by Aki Hamaji. It has been serialized in Houbunsha's seinen manga magazine Manga Time Kirara Max since December 2017. Its chapters have been collected in six tankōbon volumes as of August 2023. A spin-off manga series, titled Bocchi the Rock! Gaiden: Hiroi Kikuri no Fukazake Nikki, began publication in July 2023.

<i>Re:Kessoku Band</i> 2024 EP by Kessoku Band

Re:Kessoku Band is the debut EP by Kessoku Band, a fictional rock band from the anime television series Bocchi the Rock!, released by Aniplex on August 14, 2024. It consists of six tracks, including the theme music of the two compilation films of the anime series. The EP peaked at number two on the Billboard Japan Hot Albums chart and the Oricon Albums Chart.
