The Answer Man was a United States 15-minute radio program that aired from 1937 to 1956 on the Mutual Broadcasting System and also in syndication. It was broadcast late Sunday evening on some stations. During the 1940s, the program was sponsored by Trommer's White Label Beer. The Answer Man was Albert Carlyle Mitchell, who was born May 31, 1893 in Elsberry, Missouri. The series was created by Mitchell and Bruce Chapman.

Albert Roy Mitchell was a professional baseball player. He was a right-handed pitcher over parts of seven seasons with the St. Louis Browns, Chicago White Sox and Cincinnati Reds. For his career, he compiled a 32–37 record in 122 appearances, with a 3.42 earned run average and 204 strikeouts. Mitchell was a member of the 1919 World Series champion Cincinnati Reds, though he did not play in the World Series.

Albert Daniel (Bert) Rechichar is a former American football defensive back and kicker who played with the National Football League's Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Colts, and Pittsburgh Steelers from 1952 to 1960. He also played for the American Football League's New York Titans in 1961. Rechichar was the tenth overall pick of the 1952 NFL Draft, selected by the Browns out of Tennessee.
