Anamika is a 2024 Indian Tamil-language Horror television series which premiered from 19 May 2024 on Sun TV. [1] It stars Akshata Deshpande, Darshak Gowda and Akash Premkumar in lead roles. [2] The show is directed by Bathri and produced under the banner of Whitee Lottus Digital Studio. It tells the love and thriller story of Anamika, Nanda and Rishi.
In End of June 2023, the series was announced by Sun Entertainment, highlighting the issue of Fantasy horror triangle love story. [3] The show claimed to be the highest budgeted series on Indian television. The first promo of the series was released on 18 June 2023 and featured the story. [4]
The series is expected to be launched on August, but the team postponed and the shoot was halted, also no further announcements regarding the series launch and the promo was not telecasting on Sun TV for five months. [5] This makes the rumors that the series was shelved and believed that it was dropped. However, In December 2023, the shoot was begun and filmed. Finally the production team and the channel put an end to the rumors by releasing news. [6] On 29 April 2024, after 10 months the promo was re-released. [7] [8]
Newcomer actress Akshata Deshpande was selected for the female lead role of Anamika in the series after her notable performances in the Kannada series Kavyanjali . [9] [10] Actor Akash Premkumar, a well-experienced actor who gained fame from his films Varmaa, was chosen for the male lead role. It was first his television debut, which however became long delayed and Pandian Stores 2 , became his first Tamil release. [11] Darshak Gowda is also in the cast, marking his return after Arundhathi and Singapennae . [12]
The first promo was released on 18 June 2023 featuring Akshata Deshpande, Darshak Gowda and Akash Premkumar. [13] [14] The second promo was unveiled on 12 May and revealing the release date. [15] This series was launched along with Top Cooku Dupe Cooku . [16]

Since July 2024, Anamika has been dubbed in other languages such as in Malayalam, [18] Telugu [19] and Bengali. [20] It was broadcast on Sun TV Network's group of channels in the respective languages.
The show got a TVR of 3.24 on launching week on 19 May 2024. [21]
