Art Aia - Creatives / In / Residence is an international art residency [1] [2] [3] located near the comune of Sesto al Reghena [4] in the north-eastern Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia.It's a place for artistic production [5] and research that focuses on the development of the creative process and facilitates cultural exchange across borders. [6]
Art Aia - Creatives / In / Residence [7] is located three kilometers from Sesto al Reghena, in the locality of "Banduzzo" (which in local dialect means "Place Banned") and from the mid-nineteenth century has been an agricultural center of the Morassutti Family. [8]
In the garden of Art Aia - Creatives / In / Residence stands the nineteenth century Church of St. Anthony of Padua, [9] erected by the owners of these lands and it contains the contemporary altar-piece which represents Saint John the Baptist and Saint Antony of Padua.
Art Aia - Creatives / In / Residence [10] currently promotes cultural and artistic activities at a local and international level. [11] The art center is a creative hub that spreads international initiatives related to the visual and performing arts, facilitating cultural tourism in the region. [12] In the past few years several teaching artists have been collaborating with the venue like American Master Drama Teacher John Strasberg, son of Lee Strasberg, who held two International acting workshops [13] as well as Italo-Palestinian artist Mustafa Sabbagh [14] who taught a photography masterclass [15] in 2014. Several artist collectives have also been hosted in the center like Marsala 11 [16] and the Institut für Alles Mögliche of Berlin [17] among others.
The fact that people come to a place, where everyone makes that commitment, and they are in the country just changes the atmosphere of work so there is a kind of relaxation and comaradery that is very special. It is a special place.

Art Aia [18] - Creatives / In / Residence has various working spaces [3] at the disposal of the visiting artists. Spacious rooms and outdoor spaces are available for production, exhibiting, exchange and leisure, including the Art Aia guest house, [19] the Art Aia studio, the garden, the Multi-Purpose Performing Arts Space [20] (in progress), the Art Aia Rehearsal Space, [21] the fields and the vineyard where installations and performances can be realised.
Every summer, Art Aia-Creatives / In / Residence, [22] offers a cross-disciplinary Artist in Residence program open to international artists [23] that culminates with an exhibiting event which is generally open to the local public.
Arts Territory Exchange Residency in Sustainable Practice
Since 2018, Art Aia - Creatives / In / Residence collaborates with the Arts Territory Exchange in the Residency in Sustainable Practice [24] which is an off-shoot programme that has been formed in collaboration with the Centre for Sustainable Practice in the Arts (CSPA). Two artists per year have the opportunity to develop their practices in relation to ideas of ecology and sustainability by attending a one week residency at the Italian art center.
Uronto Residential Art Exchange Program
Art Aia - Creatives / In / Residence collaborates with Artist-Led Open Collective Uronto Artist Community [25] affiliated with Art Initiative Bangladesh-AIB. [26] Its founder Giovanni Morassutti has been part of the selection board along with independent curator Sadya Mizan and he has co-curated the 8th and 9th Episode [27] of the Uronto Residential Art Exchange Program [28] .
In 2016 was founded [35] in Berlin, Art Aia-La Dolce Berlin, [36] which is a project space in the turkish area of Wedding that hosts artists from all over the world [37] and give them an opportunity to showcase their work. Art Aia -La Dolce Berlin [38] promotes Friulian wine [39] and food as well and it is the German location of Art Aia. In 2020 5VIE D'N'A [40] - Design and Art for a Better World at Società d'incoraggiamento d'arti e mestieri has hosted a video installation realized by Giovanni Morassutti [41] featuring several artists that have been exhibiting in the subsidiary space of Art Aia [42] as well as diving into the independent art scene of Berlin and its alternative spaces like the abandoned buildings at Teufelsberg. Since 2020 Art Aia became also a News Publisher at Google News [44] with a general interest on Arts & Culture, Sustainability and Eco- therapy. In addition to its publications, the online platform is also collecting stories from people around the world [45] to facilitate communication during coronavirus lockdown.
Art Aia has also created an online presence management company [46] to enhance the visibility of artists and cultural organizations. Art Aia - ValueYourSelf [47] is also an online platform [48] that connects cultural organizations, individual artists and creative businesses interested in trading services, goods and liberal donation in order to create new opportunities of exchange and collaborations. Art Aia - Creatives / In / Residence is currently participating [50] in art projects like Coantivirus [51] initiated by Nongyuan International Art Village in China as well as Hello World [52] by American no-profit organization Trans Cultural Exchange supporting and promoting online exhibitions due to Covid19. The art center has also become a partner of Google Arts & Culture. [53]

The small Church of St. Anthony of Padua is a Catholic Church located in a country estate near the Comune of Sesto al Reghena in Friuli Venezia Giulia.The main façade is enriched by the presence of a rectangular portico, delimited by a small wall on which rest two lateral pillars and two central columns which support the triangular tympanum.The entrance door is flanked by two rectangular windows.
