The Pentagon holds over 9,800 pieces of art, a majority of which is inaccessible to the public.
The United States Department of the Air Force Art Collection, located at the Pentagon, has collected over 9,800 art pieces as part of the United States Air Force Art Program, several of which are on display at the Pentagon.

The painting, completed by Merv Corning in 1968, depicts a Sopwith Camel flown by Roy Brown engaging and downing a biplane flown by Manfred von Richthofen. The work is located on the 4th floor. [1]
BULLSEYE AT AVON PARK, made by Keith Park in 1967, shows an McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II pulling up after hitting a target below at Avon Park, Florida. The depicted aircraft belonged to the MacDill Air Force Base, and the painting is on display on the 5th floor. [2]
B-1 NOW is a black-and-white painting completed by John Pototschnik in 1971 that shows the Rockwell B-1 Lancer in its early stages of development. The painting is no longer on display. [3]
Hide Your Head In The Sand, painted by Harley Copic in 2004, depicts a port-a-john at Tallil Air Base in Iraq. The painting is located on the 5th floor of the D-Ring. [4] [5]
Hats Off to the US Air Force, completed by Anthony Stencel as part of the 60th Anniversary of the Air Force, shows six helmets worn by pilots throughout the history of the ir Force. Stencel stated that the work "represents the chronological advancement of flight head gear during the sixty years of the USAF. Painting chronicles evolution of the AF by its helmets that pilots used through the years." [6] The painting is located on the 4th floor of the E-Ring. [6]
Sunrise in Korat depicts a fighter pilot, sitting inside of an Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II, while the sun rises behind the vehicle. The painting was made by Christopher Hopkins in 2008, and is located on the 4th Floor portion of the E-Ring, the outermost ring of the Pentagon. [7]
Last Mission, painted by Raymond White, shows Brian Boeding entering the cockpit of an A-10 before taking off in Iraq. [8] Boeding retired after the mission, [9] and the painting is located on the 5th floor. [8]
The Pentagon Memorial, located outside of the Pentagon, is a permanent outdoor memorial to the 184 people who died as victims in the building and on American Airlines Flight 77 during the September 11 attacks. [10] The memorial consists of benches bearing the names of victims. [11] Designed by Julie Beckman and Keith Kaseman of the architectural firm of Kaseman Beckman Advanced Strategies [12] with engineers Buro Happold, the memorial opened on September 11, 2008. [13]
The Baskerville Collection contains a series of portraits by Charles Baskerville, all painted in 1950. [14] Subjects of the portraits include Frederick L. Anderson, [15] William Pershing Benedict [16] and Richard Bong. [17] Several of the portraits are hung on the 5th floor.
The Baskerville Collection, completed from 1957 to 1959, is a collection of several paintings done by Frank Beresford. [18] Many of the paintings are portraits of high-ranking officials, including a portrait of Curtis LeMay that is located in the library on the 6th floor. [19]
The Baskerville Collection was compiled and painted by Henri Farre, and the paintings in the collection depict several action scenes and portraits. The last painting, completed in 1964 and titled WWI AIR COMBAT, shows a dogfight between two biplanes. [20]
Ramstein Air Base is a United States Air Force base located in Rhineland-Palatinate, a state in southwestern Germany. It serves as the headquarters for the United States Air Forces in Europe – Air Forces Africa (USAFE-AFAFRICA) and NATO Allied Air Command (AIRCOM). Ramstein is near the town of Ramstein-Miesenbach, which is situated outside the base's west gate, in the rural district of Kaiserslautern. The base supports forward elements deploying to Eastern Europe and Africa.
Andrews Air Force Base is the airfield portion of Joint Base Andrews, which is under the jurisdiction of the United States Air Force (USAF). In 2009, Andrews Air Force Base merged with Naval Air Facility Washington to form Joint Base Andrews. Andrews, located near Morningside, Maryland in suburban Washington, D.C., is the home base of two Boeing VC-25A aircraft with the call sign Air Force One when the president is on board, that serve the President of the United States, and the President is typically flown in and out of Andrews when travelling from Washington, D.C. by plane.

The Achievement Medal was first proposed as a means to recognize outstanding achievement or meritorious service of military personnel who were not eligible to receive the higher Commendation Medal or the Meritorious Service Medal.
Peterson Space Force Base, previously Peterson Air Force Base, Peterson Field, and Army Air Base, Colorado Springs, is a United States Space Force base that shares an airfield with the adjacent Colorado Springs Municipal Airport and is home to the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), the Space Force's 21st Space Wing, elements of the Space Force's Space Systems Command, and United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) headquarters. Developed as a World War II air support base for Camp Carson, the facility conducted Army Air Forces training and supported Cold War air defense centers at the nearby Ent Air Force Base, Chidlaw Building, and Cheyenne Mountain Complex. The base was the location of the Air Force Space Command headquarters from 1987 to 20 December 2019 and has had NORAD/NORTHCOM command center operations since the 2006 Cheyenne Mountain Realignment placed the nearby Cheyenne Mountain Complex on standby. On 26 July 2021, the installation was renamed Peterson Space Force Base to reflect its prominent role in the new space service.

Constantinos "Ted" CoConis was an American illustrator and painter who worked on many children's books, including the 1971 Newbery Award-winning The Summer of the Swans by Betsy Cromer Byars, and The Golden God, Apollo by Doris Gates. He is the creator of well-known movie posters, book covers, and magazine and story illustrations, for which he was inducted into the Society of Illustrators' Hall of Fame. In 1980, he left the world of illustration to pursue a career as a fine artist.
Ramón Colón-López is a retired senior non-commissioned officer of the United States Air Force and a former pararescueman, and served as the 4th Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman (SEAC) from December 13, 2019 to November 3, 2023. In his role as SEAC, Colón-López was the most senior enlisted member of the United States military. In 2007 he was the only Hispanic American among the first six airmen to be awarded the newly created Air Force Combat Action Medal. He served as the Senior Enlisted Leader of United States Africa Command from September 2016 to November 2019.
William Dean Fausett was an American painter. His career spanned over six decades. He painted notable figures like Dwight D. Eisenhower, Ronald Reagan, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Grandma Moses, Ezra Taft Benson, and Sir Alexander Fleming. His brother Lynn Fausett was also a painter. Fausett also purchased the historic house of Cephas Kent, Jr. in Dorset, Vermont and was instrumental in it the forming of the Kent Neighborhood Historic District.

Michele Rushworth is an American artist noted for her oil-based portrait paintings. She has painted the official portraits of leading figures in government, law, education, medicine and the arts, including nine state gubernatorial portraits as well as private portraits for families. In 2010 she was commissioned to paint the official portrait of Coast Guard Commandant Admiral Thad Allen and was awarded the commission to paint the official portrait of Admiral Robert J. Papp Jr. She has also been commissioned to paint the official portraits of United States Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke and a portrait of the Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force General Norton Schwartz which was unveiled at the Pentagon in early 2013.
Joint Base Langley–Eustis is a United States military facility located adjacent to Hampton and Newport News, Virginia. The base is an amalgamation of the United States Air Force's Langley Air Force Base and the United States Army's Fort Eustis which were merged on 1 October 2010. The base was established in accordance with congressional legislation implementing the recommendations of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Commission. The legislation ordered the consolidation of the two facilities which were nearby, but separate military installations, into a single Joint Base, one of 12 formed in the United States as a result of the law.
