Astrid Hansen is a Norwegian orienteering competitor and World champion. [1] She won a gold medal in the 1968 World Orienteering Championships with the Norwegian Relay team. [2] She received a bronze medal in 1966. [3]

Ingrid Hadler is a former orienteering competitor and cross-country skier from Norway. She won the 1970 Individual World Orienteering Championships in Eisenach, and received a silver medal in Linköping in 1968. She won the gold medal in the Relay event at the World Orienteering Championship in 1968, the silver medal in 1974, and the bronze medal in 1966 and 1970.

Anne Berit Eid is a Norwegian orienteering competitor. Her achievements include winning an individual world championship gold medal in 1978, and a silver medal in the relay in 1979.

Ragnhild Bratberg is a Norwegian orienteering competitor and a cross-country skier. In orienteering, she won the overall Orienteering World Cup in 1988, and represented Norway several times in the World Orienteering Championships relays, winning medals in 1985, 1987 and 1991. In ski orienteering she won four individual gold medals at the World Ski Orienteering Championships, and once in the relay. She was awarded Egebergs Ærespris in 1988.

Hanne Sandstad is a Norwegian orienteering competitor and World Champion.

Brit Volden is a Norwegian orienteering competitor. Her achievements include two individual silver medals, and one gold and one silver medal in the relay at the World Orienteering Championships. She also won the unofficial World Cup in 1983 and placed second overall in 1984 and 1988.

Håvard Tveite was a Norwegian orienteering competitor. He was Relay World Champion from 1987 and 1989, and has a silver medal from 1991 and a bronze medal from 1997. He also obtained bronze in the individual course at the 1989 World Orienteering Championships.

Cecilia Nilsson is a Swedish orienteering competitor. She is Relay World Champion from 1997, as a member of the Swedish winning team. She also has a silver medal from 2001.

Ola Skarholt, was a Norwegian orienteering competitor. He became Relay World Champion in 1970 as a member of the Norwegian winning team, which also consisted of Stig Berge, Per Fosser and Åge Hadler. Skarholt placed fourth in the individual contest.

Elisabeth Ingvaldsen is a Norwegian orienteering competitor and World champion. She won a gold medal in the 1999 World Orienteering Championships with the Norwegian relay team. She received a silver medal in 1997 and bronze medals in 2001, 2003 and 2004.

Astrid Rødmyr is a Norwegian orienteering competitor and World champion. She won a gold medal in the 1968 World Orienteering Championships with the Norwegian Relay team, and placed 10th in the individual contest. She received a bronze medal in the relay in the 1970 World Orienteering Championships.

Ragnhild Bente Andersen is a Norwegian orienteering competitor and World champion. She won a gold medal in relay at the 1987 World Orienteering Championships, together with Bratberg, Olsvik and Volden. She received a silver medal in relay in 1991, together with Sandstad, Arnesen and Bratberg.

Kristin Danielsen is a Norwegian orienteering competitor. She won a silver medal in the relay at the 1974 World Orienteering Championships, and two bronze medals in the 1970 World Orienteering Championships.

Ellen Sofie Olsvik is a Norwegian orienteering competitor, world champion in the relay event, and winner of the first overall Orienteering World Cup. She is also world champion in ski-orienteering.

Raila Kerkelä is a Finnish orienteering competitor. She received two medals at the 1966 World Orienteering Championships in Fiskars, a bronze medal in the individual contest, and a silver medal in the relay with the Finnish team. She received a bronze medal in the relay event at the 1968 World Orienteering Championships in Linköping, together with Pirjo Seppä and Tuula Hovi.

Ida Bobach is a Danish orienteering competitor who was Junior World Champion in 2009, and became triple Junior World Champion from 2010, when she won the sprint, long distance and the relay. She represents the club OK Pan Århus, and since 2007, has received training from Danish national coach Lars Lindstrøm. In 2015 she won gold medals at the World Championships in the long and Relay.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Tove Alexandersson</span> Swedish orienteer

Tove Alexandersson is a Swedish orienteer, ski orienteer, skyrunner, trail runner and ski mountaineer. She has won a total of 19 gold medals at the World Orienteering Championships and 10 gold medals at the World Ski Orienteering Championships. In 2018, she won the Sky Marathon event at the Skyrunning World Championships, in her second skyrunning race ever. In 2021, she won the combined discipline at the World Championships of Ski Mountaineering, and in 2023 she won a silver medal in the up and down discipline at the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships. She competes for Stora Tuna OK in orienteering and Alfta-Ösa OK in ski orienteering. Alexandersson holds the record for the number of gold medals in a row at the World Orienteering Championships, winning 11 in a row between 2018 and 2022.

The 1st World Orienteering Championships were held in the village of Fiskars, Finland, 1–2 October 1966.
