Authon-du-Perche (French pronunciation: [otɔ̃ dy pɛʁʃ] , literally Authon of the Perche ) is a commune in the Eure-et-Loir department in northern France. On 1 January 2019, the former commune Soizé was merged into Authon-du-Perche. [3] The source of the river Braye is near the commune. [4]

Eure-et-Loir is a French department, named after the Eure and Loir rivers. It is located in the region of Centre-Val de Loire. In 2019, Eure-et-Loir had a population of 431,575.

The Braye is a river of France, and a right tributary of the river Loir. Its source is about 1 kilometre (0.6 mi) west of Authon-du-Perche. The Braye is 75.1 kilometres (46.7 mi) long, and crosses Savigny-sur-Braye. Among its tributaries are the Grenne, Anille and Tusson. It flows into the Loir near Pont-de-Braye, in Lavenay.
