Ayyub Baninosrat (Persian : ایوب بنینصرت is an Iranian wrestler born in Tabriz, East Azerbaijan in Iran.
Baninosrat received his bachelor's degree in physical education at the University of Tabriz and then received a master's degree in physical education management from Urmia University. He received a doctorate in sports management and marketing from Islamic Azad University, but did not continue his education from the second year. He has been a professor in Islamic Azad University of Tabriz for 18 years in physical education.
He entered the wrestling field for the first time in 1982 when he was only 14 years old, motivated by his older brother Davood Baninosrat, and after three years, he reached fourth place in the youth national championship.
Baninosrat became a member of the Iranian national wrestling team in 1990 and won third place at the Beijing Asian Games [2] In the same year. Then, he defeated his powerful opponent, Abbas Jadidi, to advance to the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
From 1990 to 1996, he was a member of the Iranian national wrestling team in the Olympic, World, Asian, and national wrestling competitions. During this time, he also became Pahlevan of Iran of Iran twice.
Baninosrat wrestled at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona in 90 kg weight, where he lost 1–0 to Puntsagiin Sükhbat from Mongolia in the first round, but he defeated Iraklis Deskoulidis from Greece in the second round. In the third round, he defeated Tóth from Hungary. Still, he lost to Kenan Şimşek from Turkey, finishing third in his group, and went to Limonta (Cuba) for the fifth title. Baninosrat finished fifth in the Olympics with a 3–1 victory over Limonta.
In the ninth Asian Wrestling Championships(1993) in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, he weighed about 100 kg and defeated his opponents in the 130 kg category to win the gold medal.
He won a gold medal in the international competitions of the Takhti Cup in 1371 and 1372, weighing 90 and 100 kg. He also won a bronze medal in the 2nd World University Championships(1996) in the 100 kg weight class.
One of the most significant honors of Ayyub Baninosrat is that he could wear the Pahlavani wrestling armband and become the Pahlevan of Iran for two consecutive years, 1993 & 1994 (1371 & 1372).
Gholamreza Takhti was an Iranian freestyle wrestler and varzesh-e bastani practitioner. He was a gold medalist at the 1956 Summer Olympics, 1958 Asian Games, 1959 World Championships, and 1961 World Championships, as well as a three-time Pahlevan of Iran. Popularly nicknamed Jahân Pahlevân because of his chivalrous behavior and sportsmanship, he was the most popular athlete of Iran in the 20th century, although dozens of Iranian athletes have won more international medals than he did. Takhti is still a hero to many Iranians. He is listed in the UWW Hall of Fame.
Abbas Dabbaghi Souraki is an Iranian freestyle wrestler. Competing in the 55 kg division he won a bronze medal at the 2007 Asian Championships and a silver medal at the 2009 World Cup. He placed tenth at the 2008 Summer Olympics.

He is the head coach of the Iranian national wrestling team and an official instructor of the World Wrestling Federation and before that he was the manager of the national wrestling teams, the spokesperson of the Iran Wrestling Federation and the director general of sports and youth of Mazandaran. He has other executive responsibilities. He was the advisor to the vice president and the advisor to the head of the physical education organization from 2008 to 2010, managed the National Museum of Sports, Olympics and Paralympics, and was the vice president of the wrestling federation.
Abbas Zand more known as Abbas Zandi was an Iranian bastani practitioner, freestyle wrestler, and coach. Zandi competed in three Olympic Games: 1948 in London, 1952 in Helsinki, and 1956 in Melbourne.
Pahlevan of Iran is a national championship for pahlevani wrestling held annually in Iran. Though the competition has ancient roots, its modern form began in 1944.

Hassan Yazdani Charati is an Iranian freestyle wrestler. Yazdani is an Olympic and World Champion in freestyle wrestling in two weight categories. He became Olympic champion in the 74kg category at the 2016 Summer Olympics after defeating Russian wrestler Aniuar Geduev in the final. The following year he became World Champion at the 2017 World Wrestling Championships in the Men's freestyle 86 kg category. He won his second world title at the 2019 World Wrestling Championships in Kazakhstan and third at the 2021 World Wrestling Championships in Norway.
Younes Sarmasti is an Iranian freestyle wrestler. He won a bronze in the Asian Championships 2015. Sarmasti also won a gold medal in Junior Worlds 2013 and Takhti Cup 2015.

Amir Hossein Zare is an Iranian freestyle wrestler who currently competes in the heavyweight division. Zare became World Champion in 2021, and 2023. He was the 2019 U23 World Champion at age 18. He claimed a Tokyo Olympic Games bronze medal in 2021. In the age-group, he was the 2018 Cadet World Champion and claimed silver medals from the 2019 Junior World Championships and the 2018 Youth Summer Olympics.

Mohammad Reza Geraei, is an Iranian Greco-Roman wrestler. At the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan, he won the gold medal in the men's 67 kg event. In 2018, he won one of the bronze medals in the men's 67 kg event at the Asian Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Amin Taheri is an Iranian freestyle wrestler. He won his first world title in Zagreb at the Junior Wrestling World Championships, where he won a bronze medal in 120 kg. In the same year he won gold in Asian Junior Wrestling Championships. Next year, 2015, he was able to score a silver medal in the same category at Junior world championships in Brazil. Naser Kalantari is an Iranian professional mixed martial artist, who competes in the Welterweight division in SBC.
