Bangladesh Planning Commission [1] (denoted as PC) is the economic public policy institution of the Government of Bangladesh. The Planning Commission undertakes research studies and policy development initiatives for the growth of national economy and the expansion of the public infrastructure of the country, in tandem under the Ministry of Planning and alongside the Ministry of Finance. In addition, the planning division of the Planning Commission serves as the secretariat for all major economic policy questions and for initiating the appraisal of development projects and programmes by:

National Economic Council (NEC)

The National Economic Council is the highest political authority for the consideration of economic policies and development activities reflective of long-term national policy objectives of the government of Bangladesh. It serves as the economic "mini-cabinet", consisting of the main economic ministers and their officials, and is chaired by the Prime Minister.

Generally, the ministries formulate their respective plans and programmes or projects, as per objectives formulated by the NEC. The NEC meets when called by the prime minister, and meetings can include external invitees dependent on the subject under consideration. All NEC proposals are later provided to ECNEC to be approved.

Meetings

Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC)

The ECNEC Wing of the Planning Commission is in charge of co-ordinating meetings of the ECNEC, and monitoring the implementation of decisions taken at the meetings.

ECNEC Wing is headed by a Joint Secretary of the Bangladesh Civil Service (Administration) cadre, who is supported by two Deputy Secretaries and two Senior Assistant Secretaries.

The Iranian National Commission for UNESCO was established in 1948 subsequent to Iran’s accession to UNESCO, by the order of the National Consultative Assembly, the then Parliament of Iran. The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) is an executive committee under the Cabinet Division of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, which verifies, imports, approves and advances national important development projects, regardless of the economic status and economic activities of the country. Provides formulation, review and approval. Meetings of the ECNEC are usually held in the NEC conference room in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar under the Planning Department, Planning Department.

Ahmad Kaikaus is a Bangladeshi civil servant who is currently the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Development Forum is a biannual, was annual till 2005, conference in Bangladesh between the government and donor agencies. This is an invite only meeting let by the Finance Minister of Bangladesh.

M Syeduzzaman is a former finance secretary and member of the Central Committee of Bangladesh Krishak Sramik Awami League. He is the chairperson of Credit Rating Agency of Bangladesh Limited. He is a member of the Trustee Board of the Centre for Policy Dialogue.

Shamima Nargis is a retired government Senior Secretary and Chairperson of Bangladesh Development Bank. She is a former member of the Planning Commission.
