North Goa district is one of the two districts that constitutes the state of Goa, India. The district has an area of 1,736 square kilometres, and is bounded by Kolhapur and Sindhudurg districts of Maharashtra state to the north and by Belgavi district of Karnataka to the east, by South Goa district to the south, and by the Arabian Sea to the west.

Siolim is a village in Bardez taluka, and a census town on the central west coast of India, in the North Goa district of Goa. The 2001 population was 10,311, and 10,936 in 2011. Siolim is also the name of a constituency in the Goa assembly, which includes Assagao, Anjuna and Oxel, in addition to Siolim. A person from Siolim is known as a Siolcar or even as Shivalkar.
Socorro is a village that lies five kilometres to the east of Mapusa town in Bardez taluka. It is administered by a panchayat represented by members from the seven wards of Ambirna, Arrarim, Carrem, Maina, Porvorim, Vaddem and Zosvaddo. It is also considered as a census town in North Goa district in the Indian state of Goa. It once formed part of the comunidade and the larger village of Serula. Serula has since been divided into the villages of Salvador do Mundo, Penha da Franca(Britona), Pomburpa and Socorro. The village takes its name from the patron saint or deity of its parish church, our Lady of Succour or Nossa Senhora do Socorro.
Mapusa River river is one of the main tributary of the River Mandovi in Goa, India. The river originates from the jungles of Dumacem and Amthane, meanders eastward and then southward before it drains itself in the Mandovi river at Penha de France. Mapusa River has separated Corjuem from mainland Aldona. The Assonora River is the main tributary of Mapusa River. It is situated 12 km from the mapusa city which is a capital of the Bardez taluka and is one of the largest towns of Goa. It flows 20 kilometres in western direction. Penha de Franca church is situated on the junction of the River Mapusa and River Mandovi. Mapusa is the largest town located on the banks of the river.

Assagao is a village in Bardez, Goa, India located about 4 kilometres west of Mapusa. Assagao is known as the Land of Flowers as well as several other nicknames – “Goa’s South Extension”, ‘Artist’s village’, “The Beverly Hills of Goa”, “Goa’s Tuscany”. The village is surrounded by hills. From Mapusa town, the road u-turns uphill and, while descending the pass in the small plateau, splits into two parallel roads: one which proceeds straight along the St. Cajetan Church, Assagao Union High School to Anjuna and the other, which passes by Pallottine Seminary and Panchayat Office straight to Badem. The popular beaches of Anjuna and Vagator are to the west of Assagao.
San Juanv or São João is an annual Catholic religious festival celebrated on 24th June in Goa, India. According to tradition, after attending Mass, young Goan Catholic men leap into and swim in local wells, streams, and ponds as a tribute to Saint John the Baptist.
Ponolem is a village in North Goa's Bardez taluka (sub-district), India. It lies in the Goa Assembly constituency of Aldona.
Nagoa is a village in the Bardez sub-district of Goa, and lies between the North Goa headquarters town of Mapusa and the tourist-destination and former fishing village of Calangute. It is not to be mixed-up with a village of the same name which lies in the South Goa sub-district of Salcete.
