Baurene Island (Bulgarian : остров Баурене, romanized: ostrov Baurene, IPA: [ˈɔstrovˈbaorɛnɛ] ) is an ice-covered island extending 1.24 km in southeast–northwest direction and 350 m wide, the middle of the three islands of the Correo group in Bigo Bay on Graham Coast in Graham Land, Antarctica, off the southwest coast of Magnier Peninsula. It emerged as a distinct geographical entity following the retreat of Magnier Peninsula's ice cap in the second half of the 20th century.

The island is named after the settlement of Baurene in Northwestern Bulgaria.

Location

Baurene Island is located at 65°42′38″S64°25′00″W / 65.71056°S 64.41667°W / -65.71056; -64.41667 , which is 500 m northwest of Komuniga Island and 450 m southeast of Lizard Island. British mapping in 1971.

It drains the northwest slopes of Lisiya Ridge north of Mount Perchot, and flows northwards into Leroux Bay.

Nesla Glacier is the 6.2 km long and 2 km wide glacier on Magnier Peninsula, Graham Coast on the west side of Antarctic Peninsula, situated southwest of Muldava Glacier and north of Kolosh Glacier. It drains the west slopes of Lisiya Ridge west of Mount Perchot, and flows westwards into Bigo Bay next north of the terminus of Kolosh Glacier.

Orbel is the ancient Thracian name of a group of mountains in Southwestern Bulgaria.

Stego Island is the mostly ice-covered island 2.07 km long in southwest–northeast direction and 820 m wide in the Dannebrog Islands group of Wilhelm Archipelago in the Antarctic Peninsula region. Its surface area is 93.32 ha.
