Bay Head is a borough in Ocean County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 968, reflecting a decline of 270 (-21.8%) from the 1,238 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 12 (+1.0%) from the 1,226 counted in the 1990 Census. Bay Head is situated on the Barnegat Peninsula, also known as Barnegat Bay Island, a long, narrow barrier island that separates Barnegat Bay from the Atlantic Ocean. Together with Mantoloking, Bay Head is considered part of the Jersey Shore's "Gold Coast".

The Lake Proctor Wilderness Area is a 475-acre (1.92 km2) wooded site located in east Seminole County, Florida, United States, near the town of Geneva and to the west of Lake Harney. It can be found by taking State Road 46 east from Sanford, Florida and following it to the entrance on the left (north) side of SR 46 approximately 1-mile (1.6 km) east of the intersection with CR 426. The area includes a loop-type trail that is approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) in length. Habitats such as sand pine scrub, pine flatwoods, sandhill and bayhead swamp are highlighted in the area. Wildlife observed on this site includes the wood duck, white-tailed deer, red fox and Florida worm lizard. Benches are provided at several locations.

Bayhead or baygall is a swamp habitat where bay laurels predominate. The bayhead swamp is also known as a Forested Seep. Many bayhead swamps can be found in margins of creeks with little or no creek banks. Also found in deep depressional areas in flatwoods. The swamps can be described as "distinct wetland communities in the Natural Communities of Louisiana". Most bayhead swamps are semi-permanently saturated, or flooded. Forested seeps are typically mixed with pine-hardwood forests, mostly on hill sides. Some herbs can be found in this area such as various Sphagnum.
Morningside Nature Center is a 416-acre nature park located in Gainesville, Alachua County in the U.S. state of Florida and overseen by the City of Gainesville. It features a living history farm meant to simulate a North Florida family homestead from the mid to late 1800s. The farm includes an original Florida Cracker cabin built by Irish immigrants around 1840, which was moved to Morningside in 1976. The farm also features a one-room schoolhouse, along with newer farm buildings constructed as authentically as possible and a cash crop field that grows period-appropriate crops like corn, sugarcane, and cotton. The livestock on the farm are heritage breed and period appropriate to the time period. Visitors can view a Jersey cow, Ossabaw Island hogs, Dorking roosters and hens, and Gulf Coast sheep. On the first Saturday of every month September-May, volunteers dress in period attire and teach visitors about rural life in historical Alachua County. The farm is open year round Monday-Saturday 9am-4:30pm, but it is closed on Sundays. Every Wednesday afternoon from 3-4pm September through May, visitors can visit the farm to participate in the Barnyard Buddies program to feed the animals hay and vegetables provided by park staff. This program is free of charge, but donations of carrots, squash, apples, sweet potatoes, and melons are accepted, however, please give these items to staff and not directly to the animals.

Bayhead Natural Heritage Site is a 20ha nature reserve of mangrove forest and coastal grassland within the industrial area of Durban Bay, South Africa. The reserve is a remnant of what was once the largest mangrove swamp in the province.
