Bokeh Game Studio Inc. is a video game developer based in Tokyo, Japan. It was founded by Keiichiro Toyama following his departure from Sony Interactive Entertainment. They announced their first title, Slitterhead , at The Game Awards 2021.

History

Prior to the imminent disbandment of Project Siren, Keiichiro Toyama met with colleagues Sato Kazunobu and Junya Okura, whom he had worked with on the Silent Hill series, Siren series (and the latter on the Gravity Rush series) to discuss the possibility of forming their own independent studio. After months of negotiations with various parties, they registered the company in August 2020, [1] and made their announcement in December 2020. [2] Toyama would be CEO/Creator, while Okura would be CTO/Game Director and Sato as COO/Producer.

In February 2020, Toyama revealed on Bokeh Game Studio's YouTube Channel that their first project is an action-adventure game with horror elements, marking his return to the genre after more than a decade. [3] Producer Sato also revealed that the gameplay would force players to make "sacrifices", some of them being "quite nasty". [4] On December 9th 2021, at The Game Awards 2021, they revealed the first teaser trailer for Slitterhead.

Siren, known as Forbidden Siren in the PAL region, is a survival horror stealth video game developed by Project Siren, a development team within Japan Studio, and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 2 in 2003. Team Silent was a development team within Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo (KCET), responsible for the first four games in the Silent Hill franchise by Konami released from 1999 to 2004. Later titles were developed by non-Japanese companies such as Climax Studios, Double Helix Games and Vatra Games. According to composer Akira Yamaoka, Team Silent consisted of staff members that had failed at other projects and originally intended to leave the company before the first Silent Hill game turned out to be a success. According to a Silent Hill: Homecoming artist, Team Silent was ultimately disbanded by Konami itself, because Konami wanted Western developers to make the games. Project Siren, whose name was changed into Team Gravity in 2012 before being changed back to Project Siren in 2020, is a Japanese video game development studio led by game designer and director Keiichiro Toyama. It was formed in 1999 by former members of Silent Hill creator Team Silent. Originally part of Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Studio's Product Development Department, the company had developed the games Siren and Forbidden Siren 2, both for the PlayStation 2, and the PlayStation 3 game Siren: Blood Curse. Bloober Team S.A. is a Polish video game developer based in Kraków. Founded in November 2008 by Peter Babieno and Peter Bielatowicz, the company is best known for developing Layers of Fear (2016), Observer (2017), Blair Witch (2019), and The Medium (2021). Kat, known in Japan as Kitten, is a fictional character and the protagonist of the Gravity Rush series. A young woman with retrograde amnesia, she awakens in the city of Hekseville after falling from the sky, and sets out to discover the origins of her power to shift gravity. She becomes a hero to the people of the city after defending them from the threat of mysterious creatures called the Nevi. Her powers stem from Dusty, a supernatural, catlike organism that is bound to her, and whom she later realizes is a type of being known as a guardian.
