The Bolognesi Province is one of 20 provinces of the Ancash Region of Peru.
The province originally was part of Cajatambo Province (part of Lima Region since 1916) until 1903, when it was split off and named after Col. Francisco Bolognesi, the hero of the Battle of Arica. In 1990, Ocros Province split off from Bolognesi.
The area of the province comprises parts of four Andean mountain ranges with snow-covered mountains: the Cordillera Blanca, the Cordillera Negra, the Wallanka mountain range and the Waywash mountain range. Some of the highest peaks of the province are listed below: [1]

The province is inhabited by indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Spanish is the language which the majority of the population (84.05%) learnt to speak in childhood, 15.43% of the residents started speaking using the Quechua language (2007 Peru Census). [2]

The Aija Province is one of 20 provinces of the Ancash Region in Peru.
Lauricocha Province is one of 11 provinces of the Huánuco Region in Peru. The capital of the province is Jesús. The province is found at high elevations in the Andes. The highest elevation in the province is snow-capped Yerupaja peak with an elevation of 6,617 m (21,709 ft) and the lowest elevation is approximately 3,200 m (10,500 ft) along the Marañon River north of the town of Rondos. Huasta is a district of the province of Bolognesi, in the Ancash Region of Peru. The capital of Huasta is "Villa de Huasta" and the Temple is located in the Jr Grau in front of the "Seat of Arms", a monument declared by Supreme Resolution Nº 505-74-ED dated 15 October 1974. Huasta is on a plain 3,375 meters above sea level on the left banks of the river Chiquián. The seat of arms is located at the town center and there are four longitudinal streets and seven cross-sectional streets, all paved with stones.

Kunkush lies at the Ch'uspi valley on an eastern extension of the range, west of Tuna Wayin, Yana Puyku and Muya Wayin and east of Wallanka.
