Boomerang is a European pay television channel which is focused on animated kids programming. It is being broadcast Romania, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, former Yugoslav nations, Russia and CIS countries. Between November 2014 and February 2015, it was temporarily available in the Netherlands and the Flanders region of Belgium as well, and got a localised feed on 2 February 2015. [1] It started to be offered in Germany, Austria and Switzerland starting 1 October 2018, replacing Boomerang Germany.

Pay television or subscription television are subscription-based television services, usually provided by both analog and digital cable and satellite television, but also increasingly via digital terrestrial and internet television. Subscription television began in the multi-channel transition and transitioned into the post-network era. Some parts of the world, notably in France and the United States, have also offered encrypted analog terrestrial signals available for subscription.

Boomerang CEE used to broadcast in time-sharing with Viasat Nature. Viasat Nature would air nature documentaries from 8:00 PM CET to 5:00 AM CET, while Boomerang CEE would run for the rest of the day.

Viasat Nature

Viasat Nature is a television channel owned by international media company, Viasat World LTD. The channel has a focus on animals and their owners, blue chip, classic wildlife, ER and animal rescue, the natural world, and parks and sanctuaries. Viasat Nature is a 24-hour channel, broadcasting in Central and Eastern Europe and Africa.

History

Boomerang EMEA was launched in December 2005. On 12 October 2011, it was split into two different feeds: one focused on Europe and another one centred on the Middle East and Africa. The European feed at the time consisted on four audio tracks, which were in English, Romanian, Hungarian and Polish. On 12 June 2012, it began being distributed in Russia after adding a Russian audio track to the channel's stream.

On 30 September 2015, Boomerang was launched on Skylink in Czech Republic. On 4 April 2018, Boomerang (Central and Eastern Europe) switched to the 16:9 aspect ratio.

On 1 October 2018, Boomerang CEE replaced Boomerang Germany and took over its channel frequencies. It launched a subfeed intended to air German advertisements and has no Russian rating icons being displayed in its broadcast, differing from the main feed. Although it has a German audio track, its commercial continuity remains in English.

Cartoonito was a programming block targeting preschoolers. It aired weekday mornings and early afternoons before the Cartoonito branding was phased out entirely in 2014, when Cartoonito merged with Boomerang's schedule.

Cartoon Network (Poland) Polish feed

Cartoon Network Poland is a Polish language cartoon channel broadcasting to people in Poland. The channel launched on 1 September 1998 on 12:00 am local time. Since 1 March 2007, it's been broadcast 24 hours a day. On 30 September 2002 the channel began to air in Hungary and Romania. On 1 October 2008 a separate channel was created for Hungary & Romania. Both are transmitted from Warsaw. There was previously a Polish, Romanian, Hungarian and English audio track available. Currently there's only a Polish and English audio track. The channel is owned by Turner Broadcasting System Germany. The channel also carried a Toonami programming block. The channel works with some Polish dubbing studios: Studio Sonica, Start International Polska, SDI Media Polska, Master Film and Studio Genetix Film Factory. On 1 September 2016, Cartoon Network Poland re-branded using graphics from the Check It 4.0 branding package. On 4 June 2018 on 22:00 pm, Cartoon Network Poland first time aired Cartoon Network Classics.

Cartoon Network (Russia and Southeastern Europe) Russian and Southeastern European feed

Cartoon Network Russia and Southeastern Europe is a pay-television kids channel that was launched on 1 October 2009, replacing the Pan-European feed of Cartoon Network. It is available in Russian, Bulgarian and English. Both feeds are the same, except for local advertisements. The Russian website launched in October 2010. Cartoon Network doesn't have its own English site, but uses the Pan-European Cartoon Network's site. On 26 November 2010 the channel changed its look and logo. In March 2011 the CIS feed was 24 hours. On 1 January 2014 all feeds of the channels became 24 hours.

CNN International, is an international pay television channel that is operated by CNN.The service is aimed at the overseas market, similar to DD India, WION, BBC World News, DW, France 24 and RT. CNN International carries news-related programming worldwide; it cooperates with parent network CNN's national and international news bureaus.Unlike its sister channel, CNN, a US-only subscription service which is mostly broadcast from CNN studios in New York City and Atlanta, CNN International is carried on a variety of TV platforms across the world, and mostly broadcast from studios outside the US, in London, Mumbai, Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi. In some countries, it is available as a free-to-air network. The current managing director of CNN International is Tony Maddox.

Cartoon Network Arabic is a Pan-Arab free-to-air children's television channel that is broadcast for a pan-Arab audience in the Middle East and North Africa region, and it is one of two Arabic-language versions of Cartoon Network, the other being an HD pay TV channel on beIN and additional providers called Cartoon Network MENA which is available in both English and Arabic. Cartoon Network (Middle East and Africa) Africa and MENA feeds

Cartoon Network refers to two digital children's TV channels broadcasting animated programs: Cartoon Network MENA, which serves the Middle East and North Africa region along with Cyprus; and Cartoon Network Africa, which serves Sub-Saharan Africa. Cartoon Network was created by Turner Broadcasting System. Cartoon Network UK/Europe was launched on September 17, 1993. In October 1999, Cartoon Network UK became a separate feed from Cartoon Network HQ, but initially had a nearly identical schedule to Cartoon Network HQ until the latter became completely independent from the UK feed in 2001.

Nickelodeon is a European channel that launched in November 1998 in Malta as a 12/7 feed. On Christmas Eve 1998, Nickelodeon came to Romania airing 24/7 in Romanian. On October 6, 1999, this version started to air in Hungarian also. Later, Nickelodeon debuted in the Czech Republic on February 10, 2010, in Croatia on November 18, 2011, in Ukraine on March 2012, in Slovenia and Serbia on April 28, 2013 and in Bulgaria on November 4, 2013. Boomerang in Middle East and Africa is a children's channel owned by Turner Broadcasting System Europe which air children's cartoons; Boomerang Africa —which broadcasts in Sub-Saharan Africa, and Boomerang MENA—which broadcasts in the Middle East and North Africa, in addition to Greece and Cyprus.

Eurosport 1 is a pan-European television sports network channel operated by Eurosport, a subsidiary of Discovery, Inc. Grizzy and the Lemmings is a French CGI animated series produced for France Télévisions, Boomerang and Family Channel. Presumably inspired by Oggy and the Cockroaches, the series was announced on 22 June 2015, and debuted in many countries in fall 2016. There is no dialogue in the show, except in India, where voiceovers are added.In India, this show is aired on Pogo TV and some other countries it is aired on Cartoon Network.

Cartoonito is a brand name of WarnerMedia Entertainment, used in the company's pre-school television channels and programming blocks outside the United States. It is a sister brand to Cartoon Network. As of 2018, there are Cartoonito-branded television channels in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Italy, and a programming block on Boomerang across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Cartoonito used to be available as a channel in its own right in Southeast Asia, owned and operated by Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific, Inc. and also as a branded block on Cartoon Network Arabic. The brand is aimed at young children under the age of 6 years.
