Thomas Peter Rademacher was an American heavyweight boxer. A gold medalist at the 1956 Olympics, he became the only person to challenge for the world heavyweight championship in his first professional bout when he faced Floyd Patterson in Seattle on August 22, 1957. He compiled a 15-8-1 record over 23 professional bouts.

Daniel "Daan" Wepener Bekker was a South African boxer, who won the bronze medal in the Heavyweight division at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, Australia. Four years later in Rome he captured the silver medal in the same category.

Lev Dmitrievich Mukhin was a Russian, Soviet heavyweight boxer. He won a silver medal at the 1956 Summer Olympics, losing the final to Pete Rademacher. Rademacher, an upcoming heavyweight champion, would score three knockdowns before the bout was stopped. Coming into the final Mukhin knocked out all his opponents, despite two of them knocked him down in the first round.
