Safdarjung Airport is an airport in New Delhi, India, in the neighbourhood of the same name. Established during the British Raj as Willingdon Airfield, it started operations as an aerodrome in 1929, when it was India's second airport after the Juhu Aerodrome in Mumbai. It was used extensively during the Second World War as it was part of the South Atlantic air ferry route, and later during Indo-Pakistani War of 1947. Once situated on the edge of Lutyens' Delhi, today, it has the entire city of New Delhi around it. It remained the city's main airport till 1962, when operation shifted to Palam Airport completely by the late 1960s, as it could not support the new bigger aircraft such as jet aircraft.

Chesley Burnett "Sully" Sullenberger III is an American diplomat and retired airline pilot best known for his heroism as captain of US Airways Flight 1549 that he ditched in the Hudson River in 2009 after both engines were disabled by a bird strike. All 155 people aboard survived. He has served as the U.S. ambassador to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) since February 2022. Sullenberger became an outspoken advocate for aviation safety and has helped develop new protocols for airline safety. He served as the co-chairman, along with his co-pilot on Flight 1549, Jeffrey Skiles, of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA)'s Young Eagles youth introduction-to-aviation program from 2009 to 2013.
Thomas Paul Poberezny is a retired American aerobatic world champion, as well as chairman of the annual Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Fly-In and Convention from 1977 to 2011 and president of EAA from 1989 to 2010, presiding over a time period of expansive growth for the organization and convention. He succeeded his father, Paul Poberezny, who founded them in 1953.
Hammond Northshore Regional Airport is a city-owned, public-use, joint civil-military, general aviation airport located three nautical miles (6 km) northeast of the central business district of Hammond, a city in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States. The airport was previously an uncontrolled facility utilizing VHF-band UNICOM as a Common Traffic Advisory Frequency (CTAF). As a result of the relocation of Army National Guard flight operations from Lakefront Airport to Hammond, a new control tower was constructed at the airport. This tower, manned by military air traffic controllers from the Air Operations Department of the Louisiana Army National Guard's Army Aviation Support Facility #1 at the airport, became operational on 15 December 2014.
