Ray & Liz is a 2018 British drama film written and directed by Richard Billingham in his feature debut. The film retells Billingham's troubled childhood growing up in a Black Country council flat during the Thatcher era. It focuses "on his parents Ray and Liz, their relationship, and its impact on Richard and his younger brother Jason." Billingham, a photographer, previously published the book Ray's a Laugh (1996), with photographs of his family at the time depicted in the film.

The 75th edition of Locarno Film Festival celebrated as diamond jubilee edition screened 226 films including 105 world premieres and 3 international premieres. It hosted retrospective screenings of Douglas Sirk's films in its Retrospettiva section.

Fairplay is a 2022 French-Swiss short film directed by Zoel Aeschbacher. The seventeen-minute short about extreme competition premiered at the 75th Locarno Film Festival. The film has been presented in numerous international film festivals, including the Regard Saguenay International Short Film Festival and the 2023 Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival, where it won the Special Jury Prize. Fairplay was amongst the five shorts nominated for the 2023 Quartz Award.
