Camila Josefa Ramona Pássera (March 19, 1891 in Chajarí, Entre Rios, Argentina - February 28, 1948 in Buenos Aires, Argentina) was an Argentine actress acclaimed in America and Europe. She was also one of the founding members of "Asociación Argentina de Actores" (Argentine Actors Association).
Chajarí is a city in the northeast of the province of Entre Ríos, Argentina. It has 45.000 inhabitants per the 2010 census [INDEC], and it is the largest city in the Federación Department. It lies on Provincial Route 2, about 2 km east of the intersection with National Route 14 and west of the Salto Grande reservoir on the Uruguay River, 330 km from the provincial capital Paraná.
Entre Ríos is a central province of Argentina, located in the Mesopotamia region. It borders the provinces of Buenos Aires (south), Corrientes (north) and Santa Fe (west), and Uruguay in the east.

Quiroga arrived in Buenos Aires in 1906 to start her career as actress. He debuted in the "Compañía Nacional de Aficionados", an amateur company directed by Armando Discéplo and Rafael Da Rosa. Quiroga's professional debut was in 1909 being part of José Tallavi's company, moving then to Teatro Marconi where she met entrepreneur Héctor Quiroga, who would be her husband.
Years later, Quiroga joined the Jerónimo and Pablo Podestá companies, starring the theatre play Con las Alas Rotas (written by Emilio Berisso), that was played more than 350 times.
Cecilio Pablo Fernando Podestá was a Uruguayan-Argentine stage actor, singer, acrobat, sculptor and painter. He is considered to be one of the most prominent actors of classical Argentina theatre, and along with his brothers, was one of the founders of the Circo criollo. A number of institutions and places are named after him, including a town in Buenos Aires Province, and film awards known as the Premios Pablo Podestá.
In 1918 Quiroga created her own company, with the purpose of introducing the "criollo" theatre through the world. She played in Nueva York, París, Lisboa, Madrid, Barcelona, Rio de Janeiro, Lima, La Habana, México DF, La Paz, Quito, Bogotá, Caracas and Asunción, among other cities. The repertory were plays by Argentine notable writers such as Roberto Payró, Florencio Sánchez, Gregorio de Laferrere, Alberto Vacarezza, José de Maturana, José González Castillo, Luis Bayón Herrera, Vicente Martínez Cuitiño, Emilio Berisso, Francisco Defilippis Novoa, Roberto Cayol.
Camila and Héctor toured successfully on Europe, with a notable success in Spain, Portugal and France.Camila Quiroga also worked with Tango singer Carlos Gardel, and other remarkable artists such as Florencio Parravicini, Lola Membrives, Pablo Podestá, Blanca Podestá, Enrique Muiño, Angel Magaña, Delia Garcés, Gogó Andreu, Milagros de la Vega y Pedro López Lagar and Alfonsina Storni.
Carlos Gardel was a French Argentine singer, songwriter, composer and actor, and the most prominent figure in the history of tango. Gardel's baritone voice and the dramatic phrasing of his lyrics made miniature masterpieces of his hundreds of three-minute tango recordings. Together with lyricist and long-time collaborator Alfredo Le Pera, Gardel wrote several classic tangos.
Florencio Parravicini (1876-1941) was an Argentine actor who primarily worked during the Golden Age of Argentine Cinema, performing on both stage and in films. From an aristocratic family, he was a relative of the artist Benjamín Solari Parravicini (1898-1974). He began his career singing música criolla, a Latino folk genre of music that exists in many countries throughout Latin America. He appeared in more than three hundred theatrical works and films, becoming one of the leading figures of Argentine entertainment. Facing cancer, Parravicini committed suicide in 1941.
Enrique Muiño was a classic Spanish/Argentine actor who appeared in film between 1913 and his death in 1956.

Tragic Week was a series of riots and massacres that took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, during the week of January 7, 1919. The riot was led by anarchists and communists, and was eventually crushed by the Argentine Federal Police under Luis Dellepiane and the intervention of the Argentine Army, Argentine Marine Corps and Argentine Navy.
Apart from her wide stage career, Quiroga starred nine movies between 1916 and 1918 until Juan Sin Ropa (inspired on Santos Vegaand directed by Georges Benoît) which brought Quiroga to massive audiences. Other films where she took part where Viento Norte and Veinte Años y Una Noche. Quiroga also worked on several radio dramas between 1930 and 1945.
Camila Quiroga died at 56 years old after spent her vacations in Villa Giardino, Córdoba. Her daughter, Nélida Quiroga, was also an actress. Camila Quiroga's born house was opened in 1978 as a museum.

She is credited with starring in the first film in Argentina which featured nudity, though only her back was shown and she stated repeatedly that she wore a flesh-colored mesh and was not truly nude.
Delia Amadora García Gerboles better known as Delia Garcés was an Argentine film actress of the Golden Age of Argentine Cinema (1940–1960). She made almost 30 appearances in film between 1937 and 1959 and acted on stage from 1936 to 1966. She won the Premios Sur Best Actress award three times from the Argentine Academy of Cinematography Arts and Sciences, as well as the Argentine Film Critics Association's Silver Condor Award for Best Actress, the Premios Leopold Torre Nilsson, Premio Pablo Podestá, and the inaugural ACE Platinum Lifetime Achievement Award from the Asociación de Cronistas del Espectáculo.

In her 6 decades in Argentine entertainment, at the time of her death, she had filmed over thirty movies, premiered twenty plays, had nine television appearances, completed three radio series and had had countless appearances in print media. She was one of the singers who emerged in the 1920s along with Azucena Maizani, Libertad Lamarque, Ada Falcón, and Rosita Quiroga, who created the female voices of tango. She was primarily remembered for the songs "Se dice de mí" and "La milonga y yo".

She won a Martín Fierro Award as Best Comic Actress for her television work on La hermana San Sulpicio; participated in the film Pajarito Gómez which won the Best Youth Film award at the 15th Berlin International Film Festival; won a Konex Foundation Award; and was honored by the Argentina Actors Association in 2004 for her career contributions.
Olinda Bozán was an Argentine film actress and comedian of the Golden Age of Argentine Cinema (1940–1960). Born into a circus family, she acted on the vaudeville circuit, and performed in silent and sound movies.. She was trained by the Podestá brothers, one of whom she married, who have one of the most prestigious Argentine acting awards named for them. Bozán' appeared in 75 films and was considered one of the best comic actors of Argentine cinema in the 20th century.
Azucena Maizani was an Argentine tango singer, composer and actress who was born in Buenos Aires on November 17, 1902 and died in the same city on January 15, 1970. She was discovered in 1920 by Francisco Canaro and quickly emerged as a major star. Her frequent appearances on stage and radio made her the female counterpart of Carlos Gardel although she did not enjoy as successful a film career as he did, appearing in a handful of films including Buenos Aires Sings (1947). During many years she gave performances dressed with men's suits or criollo cowboy attire for which she was known by the nickname "Funny-face Cowgirl", given to her by Libertad Lamarque in 1935.
Rosa Palumbo, better known by her stage name as Rosita Contreras, was an Argentine actress, singer and vedette. She had a career in theater and also made five films. In 1944, she formed the "Comedy Society of Rosita Contreras" and debuted as a comedic actress comedy in Una divorciada peligrosa, directed by Enrique Guastavino, followed by La novia perdida in the same year. Other works included Retazo and Al marido hay que seguirlo. In 1950. she became a member of the initial executive committee of the Ateneo Cultural Eva Perón.
Eliane René Schianni Bidart, better known by her stage name, Beba Bidart, was an Argentine tango singer, actress and dancer. She began her studies at the age of ten at Teatro Infantil Labardén. She made thirty tango recordings accompanied by the Francisco Canaro's orchestra and others. Her very first film was Los Pulpos "Octopussy" (1948) opening out her path for acting on as many as thirty movies in total. She had been in a 12-year relationship with TV host Cacho Fontana She adopted a child, Paulo soon after her divorce from Mr. Fontana. She died of a heart attack on August 27, 1994.

In the later part of her career, she spent a decade performing for television. She was the younger sister of actress Berta Singerman. In 1981, she was awarded both a Diploma of Merit and a Platinum Konex for her comedy work in film and theater.

María Elena Lucena Arcuri was an Argentine film actress of the Golden Age of Argentine Cinema (1940–60). She began her career in radio in the 1930s and reached her greatest success with the role of "Chimbela", which was later depicted in film, theater and television. Her extensive film career includes approximately 50 films, including notable performances in Chimbela (1939) and Una noche cualquiera (1951). During the 1940s she participated in films with comedians like Pepe Arias, Pepe Iglesias "El Zorro", Niní Gambier, Mirtha Legrand and Carlos Estrada. Her most acclaimed film work occurred in Elvira Fernández, vendedora de tienda (1942) by Manuel Romero, Cinco besos by Luis Saslavsky and La Rubia Mireya for which she received the 1948 Best Comedy Actress Award from the Argentine Film Critics Association.
Chela Ruiz (5 June 1921 - 1 December 1999) was an Argentine actress. Her career spanned radio, film, television and stage, and in 1997 the Argentine Association of Actors awarded her the prestigious Premio Podestá for her theatrical work.
