Capital Anthems is a national digital radio station in the United Kingdom, owned and operated by Global and run as a spin-off from Capital. The station broadcasts from studios at Leicester Square in London and Segensworth near Fareham, broadcast nationally in the DAB+ format, and online. The station plays mainstream contemporary chart hit music predominantly from a period spanning the late 1990s, the 2000s and 2010s, and the early 2020s.
Capital Anthems was launched on 12 September 2024 as part of a suite of twelve DAB+ radio stations launched simultaneously by Global on digital radio and Global Player. [1] Two of the twelve - Capital Anthems and Smooth 80s - broadcast nationally on Sound Digital, and the other ten (including spin-off stations to Classic FM, Radio X and Heart, and a revived Smooth 70s) were made available over DAB+ in the London area and nationally via Global Player. To release capacity for the addition of Capital Anthems and Smooth 80s to national DAB, Capital Chill - which had launched nationally in February 2023 - was migrated down to London-area DAB+ broadcast.
Capital Anthems plays chart popular hits from the 2000s and 2010s and surrounding years; whilst the station positions itself as playing 'songs that Capital made famous', it should be noted some of the tracks played here may not necessarily have received airplay on Capital during the period they were initially released, depending on the format Capital was following at the time: Capital London briefly adopted a soul-led format in early 2006, removing most rockier and edgier music from its playlist for a time, and later leant more towards rhythmic contemporary hits in the 2010s in preparation for its alignment with the Galaxy network into the expanded Capital network of 2011.
At launch Capital Anthems had one regular presented programme, broadcast on weekday afternoons from noon to 4pm and hosted by Capital South DJ Miranda Burns. Automated music programming is played at other times.

Country radio refers to radio stations that play country music. Most country radio stations are commercial radio stations. Most country radio stations usually play only music which has been officially released to country radio by record labels. The largest owners of country music stations in the United States include iHeartMedia, Cumulus Media, Audacy, and Townsquare Media. There are more radio stations in the United States specializing in country music than any other format, out of a total of about 15,000 radio stations in the US. Country radio stations are very influential in the country music industry, compared to other genres of music. Until 2012, only country radio stations were counted in the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart's airplay component, and from 1990 to 2012, country radio was the sole arbiter of a song's position on that chart; the same magazine's Country Airplay chart remains limited solely to country radio stations.
