Charles Hicks (born 25 July 2001) [1] is a British middle- and long-distance runner. He is a two-time European Cross Country under-23 champion (2021, 2022), the first British male or female to repeat as Euro U23 winner.
Hicks won the 2022 NCAA Division I Cross Country title.
Born and raised in London, Charles Hicks moved with his family to Florida at age 12. He studies cognitive science at Stanford University. [2]
In 2021, he won the men's under-23 title at the European Cross Country Championships in Dublin. [1]
In April 2022, Hicks set a British U23 10,000 metres record with a time of 27:40.16. [3] On 19 November, the 21-year-old won won the men's race at the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships held in Stillwater, Oklahoma, becoming the first Stanford runner, the fourth British runner and the first British runner for over 30 years to win the NCAA XC individual title. He set a course record of 28:43.6 on a hilly 10-kilometer circuit. [4] [5] [3] The following month, Hicks successfully defended his European Cross Country U23 title with a commanding 8-second victory in Turin, Italy. [6] [7]
On June 30, 2023, Hicks signed a professional contract with Nike to run for the Bowerman Track Club and be coached by Jerry Schumacher. [8]

Chris Derrick is an American distance runner who won 3 consecutive US Cross Country Championships in 2013–15. He attended Stanford University, where he earned 14 All-American honors and holds an American junior record in the 5000 meters.
Cameron Levins is a Canadian long-distance runner. He won the bronze medal in the 10,000 metres at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Levins had the best-Canadian finish ever of fourth in the marathon at the 2022 World Championships, setting a new Canadian record. He is the North American record holder for the marathon and the Canadian record holder for the half marathon.
Patrick Tiernan is an Australian long-distance runner. While competing for Villanova University, he won the 2016 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships. He has represented Australia in several global competitions, including the 2016 and 2020 Olympics. He held the Australian record in the 10000 m from 2020 to 2022. Tiernan competes professionally for Puma.

She became the first British woman to win the NCAA Women's Division I Cross Country Championship in 2014, running for Iona College.
Grant Jackson Fisher is an American middle- and long-distance runner. Fisher holds American records in the 3000 m, two mile, 5000 m, and 10,000 m events. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Fisher won bronze medals in the 5000 m and 10,000 m, becoming the first American to medal in both events at an Olympic Games.
Sean McGorty is an American middle- and long-distance runner, who competes mainly in the 5000 meters and 10000 meters. He represented the United States in both events at the 2023 World Championships and in the 5000 m at the 2022 World Championships. McGorty is a two-time gold medalist at the NACAC Championships, securing victories in the Junior Men's 6K in 2014 and the 10000 m in 2022.
Justyn Knight is a Canadian long-distance track runner. A successful collegiate runner during his time at Syracuse University, he was the school's most-decorated distance runner in cross country and track. On the professional scene, he has represented his country at the World and Olympic level, with his highest finish to date being seventh at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
William "Woody" Kincaid is an American long-distance runner. He is a two-time national champion in the 10000 metres, with victories at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 2021 and 2023. He has held the North American indoor record in the 5000 metres (12:51.61) since 2023.
