The Goo Goo Dolls are an American rock band formed in 1986 in Buffalo, New York, by guitarist/vocalist Johnny Rzeznik, bassist/vocalist Robby Takac, and drummer George Tutuska. Mike Malinin was the band's drummer from December 1994 until December 27, 2013. The band are renowned for their commercially successful 1998 singles "Iris" and "Slide". Inga DeCarlo Fung Marchand, known professionally as Foxy Brown, is an American rapper, model, songwriter and actress. She is best known for her solo work, as well as numerous collaborations with other artists and her brief stint as part of hip hop group the Firm. Brown was raised in Brooklyn, New York, where her father, Winston Marchand abandoned the family at a young age to pursue his career at ERAC records. Her albums include Ill Na Na in 1996, followed by Chyna Doll in 1999 and Grammy-nominated Broken Silence in 2001. She also performed on the 1997 debut album by the Firm, the only album to be released by that group to date. She has held an extensive arrest record and served some time in jail.

The Surreal Life: Fame Games was an American reality television series that was originally broadcast on the VH1 cable network. A spin-off of the VH1 show, The Surreal Life, the show assembled ten alumni of the show's six prior seasons to compete in a ten-week competition that takes place in Las Vegas, with the winner taking home a prize of $100,000 provided by the online gaming site Golden Palace.net. Robin Leach was the host. The contestants also competed in a game show format elimination round in each episode called "Back to Reality" that saw the losers, in the first three weeks of the competition, sent to "the B-List" which consisted of living in a less luxurious wing of the mansion than the rest of the housemates, who were designated as "the A-List". In the later weeks, when the teams were split evenly, they competed in team competitions where the losing team must send three members to play "Back to Reality" to eliminate one person from the competition entirely.
