Cizrespor is a sports club located in Cizre, a Kurdish populated city in the province of Şırnak, Turkey. [1] They are currently in the TFF Third League.

The club was founded in 2010 and started competing in Mardin amateur leagues. In 2014–15 season, they became the champions and promoted to the Third League again.

In 2014–15 Turkish Cup, they managed to beat Göztepe to be the first amateur team in competition history to reach the group stage. [2]

In February 2020 the club announced that they would withdraw from competing in the TFF Third League due to racist treatment from the referees. [1] [3]

The TFF 1. Lig is the second level of the Turkish football league system. The league was founded in 2001 as the Turkish Second League Category A after the reorganization of the Second Football League, which was the second level of the Turkish league system between 1963 and 2001. The league was called Türk Telekom Lig A in the 2006–2007 season, and was renamed to TFF First League prior to the 2007–08 season. As of 16 January 2008 the league was renamed as Bank Asya 1. Lig. In April 2012 Bank Asya withdrew as sponsor of the league. During the 2012-2016 seasons the league was known under the terms of a sponsorship deal as the PTT 1. Lig. Nowadays the league is called the TFF First League once again.

2014–15 Turkish Cup football tournament season

The 2014–15 Turkish Cup is the 53rd season of the Turkish Cup. Ziraat Bankası is the sponsor of the tournament, thus the sponsored name is Ziraat Turkish Cup. The winners will earn a berth in the group stage of the 2015–16 UEFA Europa League, and also qualify for the 2015 Turkish Super Cup.
