History
Combat Logistics Battalion 3 (CLB-3) was activated on 27 June 2008 from the previous Combat Service Support Group 3 (CSSG-3) on Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kaneohe, Hawaii. Immediately following the activation, the battalion simultaneously deployed to the big island of Hawaii in direct support of 3rd Marine Regiment, aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard, and to Pearl Harbor to conduct security operations in support of nuclear submarine operations.
On 1 November 2008, just 121 days old and the youngest battalion in the United States Marine Corps, CLB-3 was designated the Logistics Combat Element (LCE) of the Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force – Afghanistan and deployed to Camp Bastion, a military base run by the United Kingdom in Southern Afghanistan. From November 2008 to May 2009, the battalion conducted combat operations in Southern Afghanistan providing all six functions of logistics: transportation, engineering, maintenance, supply, health services, and services to all Marine and NATO forces in Southern Afghanistan.
On 8 December 2021, CLB-3 responded to the Red Hill Water Crisis aboard Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam where it provided shower and laundry services to affected families and set up no less than seven water distribution points throughout the base and surrounding military communities. As part of Task Force Kuleana, the battalion distributed more than one million gallons of water from 8 December 2021 to 12 March 2022.
As part of Force Design 2030 reorganization, CLB-3 realigned under 3d Marine Littoral Regiment in June 2023 and was redesignated as 3d Littoral Logistics Battalion (3d LLB) on 12 September 2023. This redesignation created a 'first of its kind' battalion in the Marine Corps.
The 3rd Marine Division is a division of the United States Marine Corps based at Camp Courtney, Marine Corps Base Camp Smedley D. Butler in Okinawa, Japan. It is one of three active duty infantry divisions in the Marine Corps and together with the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing (1stMAW) and the 3rd Marine Logistics Group forms the III Marine Expeditionary Force. The division was first formed during World War II and saw four years of continuous combat in the Vietnam War. Today, elements of the 3rd Marine Division are continuously forward deployed and forward postured to carry out the US Government's mission of a Free and Open Indo-Pacific in conjunction with its sister services.
The 3rd Marine Logistics Group is the Logistics Combat Element (LCE) for III Marine Expeditionary Force currently headquartered on Camp Kinser, Marine Corps Base Smedley D. Butler, Okinawa, Japan. 3rd MLG provides combat service support (CSS) to III MEF units above the organic capability. CSS is the essential capabilities, functions, activities, and tasks necessary to sustain all elements of operating forces in theater at all levels of war. Combat service support includes, but is not limited, to supply, maintenance, transportation, general engineering, health services, and other services required by aviation and ground combat forces to permit those units to accomplish their missions.
3d Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion(3D LAR BN) is a fast and mobilized armored terrestrial reconnaissance battalion of the United States Marine Corps. Their primary weapon system is the LAV-25 and they are part of the 1st Marine Division and I Marine Expeditionary Force. The unit is based out of the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, California.
The 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment is a regiment of the United States Marine Corps that is optimized for littoral maneuver in the Indo-Pacific Theater. Based at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, the regiment falls under the command of the 3rd Marine Division and the III Marine Expeditionary Force. It was known as the 3rd Marine Regiment from 1914 to 2022, when it was renamed as part of the Commandant of the Marine Corps' Force Design 2030 initiative. The 3rd MLR has participated in the 2022 and 2023 Balikatan exercises in Northern Luzon, Philippines.
3d Battalion, 4th Marines (3/4) or (V34) is an infantry battalion of the United States Marine Corps. Nicknamed "Thundering Third". Nicknamed "Darkside," it is based at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California, and consist of approximately 1,000 Marines. The unit currently falls under the command of the 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, but — along with its two sister battalions — is hosted by the 3rd Marine Division, at Camp Schwab in Okinawa, Japan, when training in jungle warfare. The 3rd falls under the 4th Marine Regiment at such times.
2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines (2/3) was an infantry battalion in the United States Marine Corps based out of Marine Corps Base Hawaii consisting of approximately 1,000 Marines and sailors. The battalion fell under the command of the 3rd Marine Regiment and the 3rd Marine Division. The battalion was deactivated in January 2022 as part of the Marine Corps' ongoing Force Design efforts.

Combat Logistics Battalion 15 (CLB-15) is a military logistics battalion in the United States Marine Corps based out of Camp Pendleton, California. It consists of approximately 275 Marines and Sailors. It is part of Combat Logistics Regiment 17 within the 1st Marine Logistics Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force. When assigned under the operational control of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, it becomes the Logistics Combat Element (LCE) providing expeditionary combat logistics support to all supported elements of the Marine Expeditionary Unit. CLB-15 has two sister MEU CLBs also based out of Camp Pendleton: CLB-11 and CLB-13.
Combat Logistics Battalion 2 (CLB-2) is a logistics unit of the United States Marine Corps (USMC), which provides direct combat service support to Regimental Combat Team 2 (RCT-2). CLB-2 was formed after it’s second deployment to Iraq in 2005 as a part of the reorganization of the 2nd Force Service Support Group. The battalion falls under Combat Logistics Regiment 2 and the 2nd Marine Logistics Group and is headquartered at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina in the USA.
82nd Field Artillery Regiment is a field artillery regiment of the United States Army. The regiment has been involved with American conflicts dating back to then US involvement in the Mexican Civil War and more recently with the War on Terrorism. Currently, there are two active and three inactivate battalions in the regiment. Traditionally, the regiment has been aligned with the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas and Fort Bliss, Texas.

And 75th ranger regiment is also in Afghanistan as of 2018

Combat Logistics Battalion 46 (CLB-46) is a reserve logistics battalion of the United States Marine Corps. They were formed in 2009 and fall under the command of the 4th Marine Logistics Group. The unit is headquartered in Red Bank, New Jersey. The battalion was activated on 1 June 2009 at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina as a separate and detached command of the 4th MLG to directly support the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Members of the battalion were drawn from 54 sites, in 40 states across the nine battalions of the 4th MLG.
