East Java is a province of Indonesia located in the easternmost third of Java island. It has a land border only with the province of Central Java to the west; the Java Sea and the Indian Ocean border its northern and southern coasts, respectively, while the narrow Bali Strait to the east separates Java from Bali by around 2.29 kilometres (1.42 mi). Located in eastern Java, the province also includes the island of Madura, as well as the Kangean islands and other smaller island groups located further east and Masalembu archipelagos in the north. Its capital is Surabaya, the second largest city in Indonesia, a major industrial center and also a major business center. Banyuwangi is the largest regency in East Java and the largest on the island of Java.
Malang, historically known as Tumapel, is an inland city in the Indonesian province of East Java. It has a history dating back to the age of the Singhasari Kingdom. The Surabaya metropolitan area or Greater Surabaya, known locally as Gerbangkertosusila, is a metropolitan area in East Java, Indonesia. It is the country's second-largest metropolitan area, after Jakarta metropolitan area. Gerbangkertosusila had also been used in presidential decree to refer to larger region which include Jombang, Bojonegoro, and Tuban.
Mojokerto is a city in East Java Province of Indonesia. It is located 40 km southwest of Surabaya, the provincial capital, and constitutes one of the component units of the Surabaya metropolitan area which comprises Gresik Regency, Bangkalan Regency, Mojokerto Regency, Mojokerto City, Surabaya City, Sidoarjo Regency, and Lamongan Regency. The city covers an area of 20.21 km2, and had a population of 120,196 at the 2010 census and 132,434 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as of mid-2023 was 141,785.
Mojokerto Regency is a regency in East Java Province of Indonesia. It is part of the Surabaya metropolitan area which comprises Gresik Regency, Bangkalan Regency, Mojokerto Regency, Mojokerto City, Surabaya City, Sidoarjo Regency, and Lamongan Regency. The Regency covers an area of 969.36 km2. The population of the Regency was 908,004 in 2000, but had risen to 1,025,443 at the 2010 Census and to 1,119,209 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as of mid-2022 was 1,133,584, and the total for mid-2023 was 1,145,400. Many of them earn their living as small farmers and craftsmen.
Surabaya Gubeng Station, known as Spoorwegstation Goebeng Soerabaja during the Dutch East Indies era, is a railway station located at Gubeng Station Street, Pacarkeling, Tambaksari, Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. The Greater Bandung Commuter Line is a commuter rail service in West Java, Indonesia operated by KAI Commuter Region 2 Bandung, which serves the Purwakarta – Padalarang – Cicalengka route. This train stops at every station it passes except Andir Station which is still under construction.
