The HP Presario F700 F767CL is reputedly a personal computer. Notably, apart from being stylish, with a good keyboard and ports, it has embedded nforce610 graphics that throttle any attempt you make to update the processor actually worthwhile. While there are several upgradeable but infuriating CPU sockets, such as S1G1-S1G4, all of which have 638 pins and are mechanically compatible, you will spend countless hours trying to figure out the fastest possible compatibility, CPU upgrade path, UEFI and BIOS downloads, driver errors with the graphics in Win 10 that force you into 800 lines of graphics like a vision impaired accomodation, and finding ebay processor chips that can salvage this thing that you just got for free. However, after dissembling everything, replacing the socket with some Phenom or quad core thing that also takes 35W so you don't cook it all, and reassembling, the whole experience will frustrate you so bad that you smash it, and then write this information on Wikipedia using another computer you hate less. Thanks.

Compaq produced some of the first IBM PC compatible computers, being the first company to legally reverse engineer the IBM Personal Computer. It rose to become the largest supplier of PC systems during the 1990s before being overtaken by HP in 2001. Struggling to keep up in the price wars against Dell, as well as with a risky acquisition of DEC, Compaq was acquired for US$25 billion by HP in 2002. The Compaq brand remained in use by HP for lower-end systems until 2013 when it was discontinued.
